The Chinese New Year is approaching. Many provinces and regions in China encourage people to stay and avoid unnecessary travel for the holiday amid the pandemic. 

△ Chen Bei, deputy secretary-general of the Beijing municipal government, advised residents to stay in the city for the holiday. 


The holiday of Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) will start from February 11 to February 17. With the Spring Festival approaching, the flow and gathering of people are becoming increasingly frequent, piling on the pressure of preventing the coronavirus from entering and resurging within the regions. 

In order to curb the spread of COVID-19 and control the pandemic, many provinces and regions advise people to stay and reduce unnecessary trips during the holiday. 

 
The Guangdong Health Commission and Human Resources & Social Security Department advise to minimize travel and gatherings. They encourage Guangdong residents to spend holidays in the province and exercise protection measures. Family gatherings are suggested to be limited to 10 individuals. 

Reminder for Chinese New Year

The Human Resources & Social Security Department puts forward the following suggestions: 

1.Try to stay in Guangdong for the Chinese New Year. 
The government and enterprises will help you solve the difficulties and have a wonderful Chinese New Year. 


2.Reduce unnecessary travel. 
It is recommended not to go to medium- and high-risk areas during the holidays. If passengers want to travel, please understand the local epidemic prevention and control policies in advance and take personal protective measures. 


3. Reasonably arrange work and life. 
Please make reasonable arrangements for your vacation and try to travel off peak. If you need help, please contact the social department.

As of Thursday, there are 2 high-risk areas and 70 medium-risk areas in the country. Please follow the timely updates of the area list and avoid unnecessary travel to these places as possible.
