活动介绍

Date & Time - 27 Sept., 2025, 14:00pm-17:00pm

Location - Training Theatre, Core F, Level 3, Cyberport 3, Hong Kong

The session will explore the critical issue of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and its significant implications for the future of cybersecurity. Recent developments, particularly the work of the SEC on the Post-Quantum Financial Infrastructure Framework (PQFIF) proposal, underscore the urgent need to advance PQC within the financial industry. The session will introduce fundamental concepts of PQC, analyze implementation requirements and compliance timelines set by regulatory bodies in North America and Europe, and specifically examine the urgent challenges and countermeasures facing blockchain and Web3.0 ecosystems—particularly in cryptographic algorithms, consensus mechanisms, and infrastructure—in response to quantum computing threats.

Topic:

ZTM Protects Existing Encrypted Networks Quantun-Safe

Cai Shu Flomesh co-founder, Co-founder W3IF

The encrypted network project, Flomesh ZTM, from the Web3infra Foundation, has upgraded to OpenSSL 3.5 to adopt Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), offering significant, future-proof security. This allows any existing encrypted network using ZTM to gain quantum-safe support seamlessly, without altering the underlying application code. This approach provides a forward-thinking solution that meets future security and compliance needs.

Introduction of technology for HK regulated crypto

YU JIE Co-founder W3IF

As Hong Kong continues to roll out various Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) licenses, stablecoins, Real-World Assets (RWA), and other crypto assets are poised for rapid growth in its market. Managing wallet private keys for these assets presents new challenges. Beyond traditional Hardware Security Module (HSM) solutions, could more cost-effective and accessible custodial alternatives emerge? Multi-Party Computation (MPC) may hold the answer. This session examines current industry advancements in MPC technology and seeks to explore its future within Hong Kong’s evolving crypto asset ecosystem.

Leveraging HSMs for banking wallets

JP Aumasson Taurus co-founder & CSO

We equip banks with hot and cold wallet systems that use HSMs to store master keys, derive signing keys, authenticate transaction requests, and run policy engine. We also harden the HSM to reduce the attack surface. All these features work in a scalable, redundant infrastructure that is used by large banks worldwide.

Introduction to the latest research in post-quantum cryptography

Professor Yu Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology

The surveys recent advances in post-quantum cryptography, highlighting new lattice-based, code-based, and multivariate schemes that balance security against quantum attacks with practical performance. It reviews NIST standardization progress, improvements in key and signature sizes, implementation strategies for resisting side-channel attacks, and emerging hybrid constructions that combine classical and post-quantum primitives. The talk also discusses open research directions such as efficient zero-knowledge proofs for PQC, secure parameter selection, and deployment challenges for updating existing protocols.
