The Spanish version of Futian District’s official government website (http://www.szft.gov.cn/es/) has been launched, offering enhanced information services for Spanish-speaking investors and visitors.
Operated by Shenzhen Daily, it marks the first Spanish-language government website at both the municipal level in Shenzhen and the district-county level nationwide.

Enhancing Global Communication
As one of the six official languages of the United Nations and the primary language of over 20 countries and more than 400 million people, Spanish plays a key role in international communication. The launch of the Spanish site strengthens Futian’s global outreach and provides accessible, efficient public information for Spanish speakers.
The initiative has received positive feedback from local expatriates. Angelo Castagneto, an Ecuadorian musician based in Shenzhen, welcomed the move, noting that language remains a significant barrier for many Latin Americans. “Most of us don’t speak English. This shows the government wants to connect with the world,” he said.

Provides an overview of the district, including videos and photos highlighting major events, cultural stories, urban development, and natural scenery.

Features profiles of government officials and introduces Futian’s sister cities abroad.
News (Noticias)
Covers local updates and upcoming cultural and artistic activities.
Business (Negocio)
Highlights Futian’s business environment, core industries, and the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone.
Explore Futian (Explorar Futian)
Offers travel-related information on international communities, museums, libraries, parks, shopping centers, sports facilities, hotels, and recommended routes.
Services (Servicios)
Delivers practical guidance on transportation, healthcare, international schools, visa procedures, border checkpoints, and emergency contacts.

Rafael Saavedra, a resident from Venezuela, praised the site’s modern design and ease of navigation. “It’s great to have another way to access information in Spanish. I really applaud this initiative,” he said.

Colombian expatriate Karla Angarita expressed enthusiasm about the platform, particularly its education, news, and cultural event content, calling it both useful and engaging.
Futian at a Glance
Established in 1990 and covering 78.66 square kilometers, Futian is Shenzhen’s central urban area and the seat of the city’s municipal government. As of the 2021 national census, it is home to over 1.55 million permanent residents.
Known as Shenzhen’s central business district (CBD), Futian hosts a vibrant mix of domestic and international enterprises, with strong clusters in high-tech and financial sectors.
In 2021, the district recorded a GDP of 531.8 billion yuan (approximately US$74 billion), reflecting a year-on-year growth of 8.6%, ranking third among China’s top 100 districts.
The Spanish-language website is hosted by the General Office of Futian District Government and managed by the Futian District Government Service and Data Administration.
