信息摘要

Transport Connectivity and Logistic Section of ESCAP's Transport Division supports member States in their efforts to develop sustainable regional transport connectivity in support of the implementation of SDGs. One of our key activities is the Trans-Asian Railway networks. Our work includes promoting necessary measures to improve operational efficiency of transport systems through common regional frameworks, harmonized technical and operational standards and rules, application of new technologies to cross-border transport and innovations and capacity building in logistics.

岗位职责

Write qualitative briefs/ reports on international railway transport and related issues in countries in ESCAP region while evaluating the effectiveness of such policies to sustainable development (qualitative analysis, where feasible/applicable);
Support preparation of country reports particularly for railway transport of ESCAP region by collecting information from authentic sources;
Identify and collect information from primary and secondary sources required for the study and select an appropriate methodology;
Coordinate and liaise, as necessary, with Transport Division experts in ESCAP, to identify key issues;
Review, analyze and compile the collected data and information, and prepare reports/briefs including the findings and conclusions, incorporating appropriate tables, graphs, charts with references;
Synthesize the findings of research and prepare possible replication of results in other countries in Asia and the Pacific region;
Prepare presentations on the work or the findings and outcomes of the internship including lessons learned to the Division's staff;
Undertake other work as requested in line with the background/interest.

能力要求

Applicants must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
Training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship;
Subsequent internships should only be considered if they will not result in exceeding the six-month maximum period.
