Sr. Principal Scientist/Associate Director, Lung Cancer Drug Discovery Research, Janssen China R&D

Location: Shanghai, China

Description:

The candidate will be expected to lead, prioritize and implement research strategy and projects in Lung Cancer team in China R&D. In this role, the candidate will be leading a small group to collaborate broadly with colleagues in China R&D and global oncology groups. The candidate will also be responsible for identifying and establishing collaboration with CRO companies, academic research labs and hospitals to leverage external resources to advance internal drug discovery projects.

Qualifications:

• Ph. D. in molecular biology, biochemistry or related discipline, 10+ years post-doctoral experience.

• 5+ years of direct working experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, knowledge and hands on experience in hematological malignancy area is a big plus.

• Solid knowledge of Oncology drug discovery and/or translational research.

• Experience in a matrix organization with collaborative spirit is a must.

• Excellent communication skills.

    

Technical Skill Requirements - Specific experience would include but not limited to:

• Basic knowledge and experience in drug discovery, biomarker research and/or translational research.

• Experience in new target identification and validation-siRNA or shRNA mediated gene knockdown in vitro and in vivo.

• Basic knowledge and experience with immune-oncology is a plus.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, fluent in English and Chinese.

• Self-motivated, function well in a matrix organization and a good team player.

• Knowledge and experience working in hematological cancer field is a big plus.

• Organizational leadership skills, prior experience as a people manager is required.
