For the
Coffee Lover
By Spirits Box
In Australia, where Lawrenny Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur is produced, coffee is a cultural obsession, and a caffeine ritual.
The birth of this obsession began after World War II, when Italian immigrants brought Gaggia coffee machines to Australia. From the 1950’s Australians were drinking strong, thick espressos.
While there are more than 1.26 billion cups of coffee sold each year, it’s not the quantity by the quality of the coffee culture that makes it special. In Australia it’s not just getting a caffeine hit, but a way of life. It’s a part of daily routine, and important enough to walk an extra block to get to your favourite café.
Australia is the only country where big coffee giants like Starbucks have struggled to gain a foothold, and have had to scale back their operations – because Australian’s weren’t interested in drinking average coffee. The high standards of consumers meant Starbucks was forced to close 70% of its locations in 2008, with a lost of $105 million. Instead, locals preferred independent, craft cafes, where you can find premium coffee beans roasted & ground to perfection in house – for that perfect flat white or espresso.
In recent years, China has followed this trend. With bespoke coffee handpicked from Yunnan, or premium coffee from FACT, to tiny independent cafes across cities – big and small alike – Chinese locals are showing their appreciation for quality coffee. Finding that perfect cup of coffee can be the best way start to one’s day – or, you can shake it into a cocktail for a natural pick-me-up an night!

A fantastic example of this is Charlie’s in Guangzhou. Charlie’s is a take on a traditional Italian Caffe. “Artigianale” is the key element and Charlies roast their small batch coffee in-house, enabling the team to produce delicious, aromatic espresso perfect for brunch or for an espresso martini.
So what is coffee liqueur,
and why Lawrenny Cold Brew Coffee liqueur?
Coffee liqueur combines two of many people’s favourite drinks: coffee and alcohol. While Kahlua is the most well-know and widely sold, it’s high in sugar and a syrupy option. There are other options available.
Less known, but the single-origin, handpicked coffee bean equivalent of coffee liqueurs, is Lawrenny cold brew coffee liqueur.
Lawrenny sources the best coffee beans from around the world, then extracts the full flavours using the purist Tasmanian waters that run through the Estate. A blend of local Australian bush and meadow honey is incorporated into the rich cold brew, producing a unique coffee liqueur.
Toasted wattle seed and vanilla beans accompany the nutmeg, cinnamon and cocoa, to deliver a honeyed mocha with deep yet balanced sweetness all supported by a delicious cold brew coffee backbone.
Enjoy over ice, chilled in a shot or mixed into your favourite cocktail.
