I remember well our initial direct investments into the African market about 4 years ago, but in reality, the Fracht Group made its first venture into Africa 30 years ago when we set up our own offices in Malawi and South Africa. At that time, the company’s focus was on tobacco exports.

The Fracht Group is today one of the largest freight forwarders on the African continent. In fact, with today’s 22 offices in 15 African countries, our journey is not over. On the contrary, we have just started.

Fracht AG Basel

The Jebba Hydroelectric Power Station, Jebba, Nigeria is an important Nigerian power plant located at the frontier of Niger State/Kwara State, about 420km north of Lagos seaport. Fracht AG Basel has been entrusted with handling the transportation of the equipment from North Europe and Slovenia to the jobsite Jebba for the 1st line.  

Polytra Tanzania

Tanzania and Burundi have signed an agreement to build a $900 million railway that will connect the neighboring East African nations. The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding to construct a 282-kilometer (175-mile) line from the western Tanzanian town of Uvinza to Burundi’s capital Gitega. Finance and transport ministers from the two countries signed the deal in the western Tanzanian town.

Fracht Cameroun

Fracht Cameroun successfully delivered a 75 MT transformer as part of an 8-unit contract.

The main challenge was entering the area with only 4,72 meters of available height. We use a NICOLAS MDE multiaxial trailer with a minimum height allowance of 0.75 meter.

Fracht Rwanda

The BAL is a new professional league that has 12 club teams from around Africa.

Fracht managed the first season in 2021 and successfully importing two sets of courts, outfits for players and officials, merchandise, and more under stringent COVID bubble confinements. Under temporary import procedures, the main court was kept in Kigali under storage until this year’s finals, and it will remain in Rwanda for the third season in 2023. This year, we were nominated as importers on record once again. 

Polytra Zambia

Polytra Zambia is facilitating a 7000 mt per month sulphur transfer in Kasama, Zambia, in collaboration with our third-party rail supplier. Due to the Chambishi rail bridge that has been broken and being worked on for the last 8 months, we have had to improvise and make sure none of our DRC clients’ sulphur is delayed. 

The sulphur is moved from Dar es Salaam to Kasama by rail, where the containers are destuffed and transhipped onto trucks and then moved to the DRC. 

Fracht Mali

FRACHT MALI successfully arranged the transport of oversized equipment on behalf of our client from the port of Conakry in Guinea to Bamako and to the gold mines of Morila and Fekola.

Polytra DRC Kinshasa

We, as Fracht global logistics partner, have the capacity to accompany INGA projects for all types of shipments, from the simple air shipment of diving equipment to the heaviest part needed for a dam; the turbine that turns waterpower into electricity via its shaft, generator, and transformer. Fracht Kenya

More than a cup of tea from Kericho for 

Fracht Kenya 

The Fracht Kenya Team was given an opportunity to participate in forwarding more than 67,825 kilograms of Kenya’s finest tea from Kericho, Western Kenya. The Fracht Team, in cooperation with Fracht Belgium, Fracht USA and Fracht Mexico efficiently got the cargo picked up and delivered to Jomo Kenya Airport for the scheduled flights out to the USA and Mexico. 

Polytra DRC Lubumbashi

We positioned our container office inside the Kamoa plant with a patrol car to supervise the loading and escort of our trucks. Polytra’s monthly allocation is 15.000 tons of copper blisters and concentrates.

Fracht Uganda

Heavy Lifting Equipment Partnership 

Fracht Uganda entered into a partnership with Lochab Transport Ltd for heavy equipment cargo trucks. In this partnership, Fracht Uganda will have access to a new fleet of over 24 heavy low loader trucks with a maximum capacity of 180 tons and over 66 standard flat-bed trailers.

FRACHT BURKINA, in its permanent pursuance of business opportunities, has taken part in this

event as a member of EUROCHAM-BF (European Chamber of Commerce in Burkina Faso), for

which it holds the vice presidency.

- Charity event for the ‘Association Couleur de Vie’

In accordance with FRACHT Group policy of Social and Environmental Responsibility

(E&S), FRACHT BURKINA has joined for the second consecutive time the Association

Couleur de Vie which is a non-profit foundation that helps people in need by organizing charity events to collect donations.

Fracht Egypt

Fracht Egypt is a fully licensed customs broker with a dedicated team of highly experienced customs brokers covering all Egyptian air and seaports.

The ACI is an electronic customs clearance system which takes place during the pre-shipment stage: the information about the

goods and the relevant documents must be sent to the customs authority electronically and in advance before shipping to Egypt.

Polytra South Africa

POLYTRA SACL is moving a ATAR 09K50 A60 ENGINE S/N 20926 – fighter jet engine for strategic repairs.

The engine will be transported on an air suspension vehicle to the Polytra Johannesburg warehouse, which has more space and a flat surface, and will then be fixed on a 9 x 4 meter canvas.
