To mark the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the 30th anniversary of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC)'s international expansion, CNPC subsidiary CPECC organized the "International Employees in China" event, inviting staff from nine countries to explore China’s cultural heritage and modern development.

The tour began at CNPC's petrochemical project in Guangdong province, where participants gained firsthand insight into China’s energy infrastructure. Babylova Venera, chief engineer at CPECC’s Turkmenistan branch, described the facility as “exceptional and magnificently engineered.” Lennie Thomas, deputy director of CPECC’s Rumaila Project in the Middle East, praised the operational excellence and dedication of on-site teams.

Participants also visited Shenzhen’s Reform and Opening-up Exhibition Hall, highlighting China’s economic transformation over the past four decades. The itinerary included the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen, showcasing national achievements in infrastructure and technology.

Korganbayev Abror, a Chinese-speaking employee from CPECC’s Kazakhstan branch, expressed admiration for Beijing’s widespread adoption of new energy vehicles, calling China’s development pace “remarkable” and its landscapes “breathtaking.”

CPECC, one of China’s earliest overseas-oriented petroleum engineering firms, currently operates in 30 countries across five regional markets. Over the past decade, it has strengthened its global supply chain integration, with projects in BRI-participating countries accounting for 70% of its total contract value.

Li Xiaoning, executive director of CPECC, stated that the company will uphold an open and inclusive approach, further expanding globally by leveraging opportunities under the BRI framework.
