The 48 Group Young Icebreakers are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity to hear from Gerard Kleisterlee, Chairman of Vodafone Group Plc. During a career of almost 37 years he held a number of management positions in several Philips divisions. He became President of Philips Taiwan and Regional Manager for Philips Components in Asia-Pacific in 1996, returning to Europe in 1999 as CEO of Philips’ Components division. In April 2001, he was appointed President & Chief Executive Officer of Royal Philips Electronics and Chairman of the Board of Management and the Group Management Committee. Mr. Kleisterlee retired from Philips in March 2011.
Gerard is also a non-executive director and member of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee of Royal Dutch Shell, and a former member of the board of directors of Dell and of the Supervisory Board of Daimler AG.
At a point in time when a reforming China promises to open its markets to more foreign investment, this represents a rare and exciting opportunity to hear from an esteemed speaker with deep, extensive knowledge and experience of doing business in and with China and across the wider Asia region.
Having held senior positions in leading, pioneering multi-nationals in their respective sectors Gerard is uniquely qualified to share his views and experience having experienced the outlook on China as viewed by multi-nationals headquartered elsewhere in Europe, including Germany
