The Buddha said:” See a world in a wild flower, and a heaven in tiny grass”. Our heart is like a flower, which is scented inside, and we will smell a touch of fragrance as long as we pay some attention. Making your mind a pure land to enjoy the peace and quiet, which grows the kindness in your mind, and then you’ll realize that even a flower or grass is a heaven.
水墨画的情致就在于渗透了对万事万物的理解，无论是巍峨险峻的高山，还是广阔无垠的大海，在水墨画的表现中都似乎拥有生命一般，带着浓厚的情感荡漾在白纸上。水为白，墨为黑，在这朴素的黑白世界里，画与禅密不可分。
The temperament and interest of Chinese ink painting lies in its integration of understanding towards everything, either the towering and steep mountains or the vast and boundless ocean, which seems to be given life in the ink painting, living on the paper with rich emotion. White is the water while black is the ink. In the plain world of black and white, paintings and Zen are inseparable.
袁秋萍就是将画心与禅意融会贯通的女画家之一。她自幼习画，曾长居海外，将西方文化特色融入到了东方绘画艺术的创作当中。
Michelle Yuan is one of the artists who combine the spirit of paintings with that of Zen. She has already begun to practise painting when she was a little child and has ever lived abroad for a long time. With these experience, she integrated the features of western culture into her creation of eastern art naturally.
袁秋萍的水墨情是骨子里散发出来的，也得益于父亲的悉心栽培。她从小就在父亲的教导下练习书法，每天二十个大字，坚决不能马虎。起初，她不能理解父亲的用意，只当是练字，完成任务。但渐渐的，那种水墨精神随着年龄的增长逐渐渗透到了袁秋萍的生活当中，她也真正对中国的水墨精神有了深入的理解。
Michelle‘s love to the ink painting is deeply rooted in her bones, which also benefits from the carefully cultivation of his father. Since childhood, she has practised calligraphy under the guidance of her father, who made a strict rule of writing 20 characters every day. At first, she cannot understand his intention, but only followed his order and fulfilled the task. Gradually, the spirit of ink painting were embedded in her life as her growing up, while Michelle has deeper comprehension about the nature of Chinese ink painting.
人生中，会经历许多欢喜和失落，就像我们的心起伏一样，带着你的情绪跟随笔尖行走，形成一幅细碎却一气呵成的画面。水墨创作好似是一场梦境的拓写，我们对大千世界的感悟，梦境中出现的场景，都会在脑海中氤氲成一副轻描淡写的画面。直到在落笔前，心中已经回归本我，脑海一片澄明。笔墨为零，这对于创作者而言最为珍贵。
Through our life, there are numerous happiness and sadness. The pen walks lightly or heavily with our mood changes, forming a smooth painting but with fine details. The creation of ink painting is like a continuation of dreams. Our perceptions of the universe and scenes appeared in dreams, all will be formed as a rough image in our mind. Before starting to paint, the image in mind has been clear. The most precious thing for an artist is the image in the mind, instead of the pen and ink.
在绘画之余，袁秋萍会通过瑜伽来释放自己。她相信每个人都需要一种平衡，在一静一动，一悲一喜中，去感受身心的极度自由。就像瑜伽一样，在身体反复折叠与展开，紧张与放松中，感受到内心的安宁平和。这种从虚空到圆满的感觉，就是一种生活的参透，也与绘画有着天然的相似。
Apart from painting, Michelle usually relax through yoga. She believes that everyone needs a balance to feel the real freedom of mind and body among the stillness and movement, the joy and sorrow, which is like the yoga, feel the inner peace and tranquility among the repetition of folding and stretching, relaxing and straining. This feeling from empty to completeness is exactly a penetration of life, which also has a natural similarity with painting.
袁秋萍从不给自己的绘画与生活制定严格的条框，她希望能在与自然的亲近之中，理解最真实的内心感动，为生活与艺术创作带来更多的灵感。
Michelle never makes any strict limitation to her paintings as well as life, with a hope of understanding the realest inner emotion to bring more inspiration for life and art by being close to nature.
