Principal Lead Piping Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Lead Piping Engineer to oversee and lead piping engineering activities for major FPSO projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing complex piping design and engineering efforts within the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical and professional lead for the piping engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and supervision to engineers and designers.
Interpret and analyze owner specifications, identify applicable regulations and technical requirements, and resolve technical challenges through clear communication with clients.
Lead and participate in 30%, 60%, and 90% model reviews, ensuring design integrity, compliance, and optimization.
Oversee the production and quality of all piping design deliverables, including calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, and reports.
Manage design changes and provide effective solutions throughout project execution to ensure adherence to schedule and budget.
Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, safety regulations, and best engineering practices.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including piping materials, stress, layout, and other engineering disciplines.
Develop and review construction methodologies, operational procedures, and other technical documentation.
Conduct QA/QC checks for both inter-discipline and discipline-specific engineering work.
Support the Department Manager in resource allocation, workload distribution, and center collaboration.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering (轮机工程), Oil & Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering（油气储运工程）, or related engineering field.
Minimum of 20 years of experience in piping design and engineering, with significant exposure to offshore platforms and FPSO projects.
Proven experience as a Lead Piping Engineer on large-scale international projects.
Strong familiarity with offshore piping materials, stress analysis, layout design, pipe support, and safety standards.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client management skills.
Prior experience in FPSO hull or module design is highly preferred.
Excellent command of English, with fluent listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Native English speakers are preferred.
