Where do Chinese international students want to study most?
Thousands of Chinese international students are already re-entering the international study market, but their destination preference has changed significantly over time:
📉 Political turbulence and violence have knocked USA off the top spot. The country once captured 51% of Chinese students, which has now fallen to just 30%.
🔐 The UK has climbed in appeal due to safety and security and its historical and cultural features. Australia and New Zealand can benefit from the 'Commonwealth Halo' effect of high-quality English education 'down under' over the last 170 years.
📈 Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore have all risen in popularity, partly due to travel distance but also as a nod towards the future of the world's economic growth in Asia.
