As Manager Application Engineering, Rail at Rolls Royce Power System, you will be responsible for assist in the development of the application-specific global strategy for Rail applications including related service strategy. Provide the base application engineering for MTU Rail engines. Execute the project engineering during the project execution until commissioning of prototype and technical support of service within product lifetime.

Baseengine and system engineering
Produceand modify engines and system for specified application. Produce and ensure availability of the documentsrequired by Sales and by the application. Assist with field trials of components and/or entireengines. Provide technical/expert support for sales andservice organization. Provide technical standards presentations. Implementation rules, standards, guidelines andprocesses accordingly the global Application Engineering and monitors their observancewithin the local sales organization
Series systems development
Developand launch new serial system products including product models in relevantapplication (including automation systems). Coordinate global market launch concepts with regardto technical requirements. Compile (or participate in doing so) technicalproject engineering material (e.g. performance diagrams, drawings, salesdocumentation) for system scopes of supply. Specify,expand and update application configurations (kits) for Distribution Sales,which allows sales units an independent and flexible configuration and sale ofproducts. Specify and update standard product models inproduct configurations
Customerproject application engineering
Application engineering support to sales organizationduring acquisition phase. Technical consultancy of customers with regards toengines and system solutions. Evaluation of customer- / project specificrequirements. Definition of scope of supplies and services with thecorresponding list price calculation. Initiate and coordinate necessaryinternal development tasks or external project engineering services;
Acts as interface to the development department andto the external service provider. Creation of now/customized SAP BOMs (Bill ofMaterials). Customer specific modification of existing standard serial productmodels.
Productcommissioning
Compileinstallation specifications and installation guidelines (incl. automationscopes of supply). Coordinate/perform the first first project system businesscommissioning for prototypes (incl. automation scopes of supply). Providetechnical instructions for the commissioning of series systems. Support serviceorganization with commissioning and application-specific problem solutions.
Key Experiences and any Qualifications职位主要经验和技能要求：
Degree/ Diploma holder in MechanicalEngineering or similar.Total7+ years’ work experience, at least 2 years application engineering relevantworking experience.
Thoroughknowledge of Series 1600/1800/4000 MTU engines or other Diesel engine inOff-Highway applications.
Goodknowledge of specific application.Good knowledge of Product Supportmatters.Good knowledge of engine / system operation in specific application andfunctions.
SomeKnowledge of electrical engineering, measurement technology, open-loop controland control engineering as well as operational procedures.
Goodcommand of both spoken & written English, good at office software. Able to communicate, intercultural understanding and social skills.
Respectfor local attitudes and readiness to work in a multicultural environment. Goodcommunication skills.
