Through five sessions’ cultivation and development, CIFTIS has become an authoritative international trade in services platform that spreads ideas, connects demand and supply, shares business opportunities, and promotes development. The five sessions of CIFTIS cover a total area of 275,900 square meters for exhibition and negotiate transaction and hold 669 events, more than 8,500 enterprises and 646,000 customers from 179 countries and regions, as well as 12 overseas dignitaries have joined in, and have achieved the intentional turnover of $424.27 billion. The fair has attracted 79 overseas countries and regions to hold exhibitions and conferences, and nearly 200 international organizations and chambers and associations have participated in the exhibitions and conferences in groups, which have greatly promoted international communication and cooperation.

Firstly, consolidate global consensus and convey China’s voice to the world. CIFTIS has formed a mechanism that a global trade in services summit, as the first important event in each session, will be co-hosted by one of its three major permanent supporting institutions, namely WTO, UNCTAD, and OECD, national leaders will be invited to give keynote speech, and the heads of international organizations and international chambers and associations, senior executives of multinational corporations, and representatives from leading enterprises of different industries will center on hot issues on trade in services to gather global development consensus and convey China’s voice. Among these events, the Ministry of Commerce of China and the UNCTAD launched Global Services Vision Council and issued the Beijing Communique at the second CIFTIS; at the fifth CIFTIS, a Cooperation Initiative was issued centering on the advancement of implementing United Nations Agenda for 2030 Sustainable Development and the construction of a community of common destiny for mankind.
Secondly, implement national strategies and achieve new breakthrough. The CIFTIS pays much attention to inviting the countries along the "Belt and Road" and arranges related thematic events for them, also discusses with them on how to explore the opportunities existing in the services industry. A total of 46 countries along the "Belt and Road" have participated in the fifth CIFTIS in groups, and more than 10 thematic events were organized focusing on the "Belt and Road Initiative"; it also lays emphasis on organizing thematic events centering on national strategies including the further expansion of opening-up of service industry, the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the innovation-driven development and the military-civilian integration.
Thirdly, its international attraction has continuously been increased. Senior representatives (deputy director-general or deputy secretary-general level or above) , from all three major permanent supporting institutions of CIFTIS, namely WTO, UNCTAD and OECD, attend the fair and hold relevant forum events at every occasion; the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), International Trade Centre (ITC), World Trade Point Federation (WTPF), and World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) have become the international cooperative institutions of CIFTIS since the fourth session; European Technology Chamber (EUTECC), International Information Content Industry Association (ICIA) and other famous international chambers and associations have intensively joined in the events of CIFTIS and striven positively for in-depth cooperation. More and more overseas countries and regions have participated in the exhibitions and conferences of this fair.
Fourthly, its leading role in service industry becomes increasingly prominent. CIFTIS has cultivated a batch of national-level branding events with leading functions in trade in services industry, such as China International Express Industry Development Conference, China TCM Conference, and China E-commerce Convention, CIFTIS has continuously advanced the cross-sector industrial cooperation led by digitalization and promoted the display and communication of new ideas, new experiences, new technologies and new achievements in the field of trade in services. CIFTIS has gradually developed into an important window for "bringing-in" the advanced international services and helping China services "going global".
