With a registered capital of 101.2 billion yuan, China Broadcasting Network Co., Ltd. was established on October 12 in Beijing, marking a major step in promoting the integration of the national cable television network and the integrated development of 5G construction.
Insiders believe that the establishment of China Broadcasting Network is an important milestone for the national cable television network, which has been under decentralized operation and management for decades. It is expected that with this major opportunity for 5G development, China Broadcasting Network will be able to quickly form an industry chain, which is bound to have a significant impact on the existing 5G market in China.
It is reported that after its establishment, China Broadcasting Network will build a system for the integration of cable television network and unified operation and management of 5G construction according to the requirements of “Unified Construction, Unified Management, Unified Standard and Unified Brand” to further optimize the allocation of network resources, promote the upgrading and transformation of the national cable television network, realize intensive development and coordinate the development of cable, wireless and satellite television so as to form a multi-functional digital culture dissemination network in China.
It’s also reported that the Company will carry out an in-depth implementation of the strategy of “Smart China Broadcasting Network”, use mobile Internet, intelligent operating system and other new technologies to carry diversified applications, and develop smart products adapted to the needs of digital life to provide users with ultra high definition (4K/8K), virtual reality (VR), Internet of Things and other new businesses, so that more benefits of network integration will be better shared by the people.
The 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (known as “CIFTIS”) was held in Beijing from September 4 to September 9. As one of the eight thematic exhibitions at this CIFTIS, a thematic exhibition on 5G communication services was set up. Such science and technology terms as VR games, AR concerts, urban unmanned vehicles, VR dressing mirrors, etc. have become the hottest key terms at this CIFTIS. It is the new infrastructure construction of 5G networks that China is vigorously developing that drives the rapid development of various industries.

At the “5G Emerging Service Trade Development Forum” held during this CIFTIS, Wen Ku, Director of the Telecom Development Department at Ministry Industry and Information Technology of PRC, said that without the innovation of applications, 5G cannot change society. How to give full play to the technical characteristics of 5G to empower all walks of life and further stimulate the development of new drivers of 5G is the key to the future development of 5G. To this end, Wen Ku made three suggestions:

Continuously improve the capacity of network supply. Telecom operators shall focus on the planning of 5G networks construction and deployment, accelerate network construction in major cities, and strive for early completion of 5G networks with extensive coverage, advanced technology and excellent quality. The industry should reasonably accelerate the maturation of end-to-end network slicing and other technical solutions, overcome the bottleneck in network supply, strengthen the innovation of models of private 5G network, promote the construction of private 5G virtual network, and speed up network coverage in the industry and large-scale development of applications.

Actively build and apply industrial ecology. Encourage communications operators to cooperate with artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data and other enterprises to provide solutions to integrated applications in vertical industries, accelerate the in-depth application in intelligent manufacturing, Internet of Vehicles, medical care and other key areas, explore a business model that can be reproduced and promoted. Enrich 5G application scenarios, deepen the integrated application of 5G and build a prosperous ecosystem.
