Green transportation brings up China's electric buses ratio 服贸会

China's new energy vehicles sector has been developing very fast since 2010, with 60% of all the buses have gone electric, up from 20% in 2015. Zhao Yingmin, Vice Minister of Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said at a conference held by the State Council Information Office recently.

According to Zhao, during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, together with other relevant departments in various areas, has thoroughly implemented the decision and deployment of the CPC Central Committee on the commitment of making China's skies blue again, and paid close attention to the fulfillment of various tasks, thus the air quality of the whole country has been significantly improved. The major achievements include the followings: (1) substantial achievements have been made in the green transition and upgrading of the industrial structure; (2) the energy structure has gone a step further in clean and low-carbon energy; (3) the transportation system has become much greener; (4) the non-point source pollution has been addressed effectively; and (5) the joint prevention and control on regional air pollution has played an important role.


Zhao stated that China will actively promote the structural adjustment and optimization of industry, energy, transportation and land use sectors, further highlight the key control period, space, industry fields and pollutants, in particular, strengthening the collaborative control of PM2.5 and ozone, further optimize the scope of key areas for air pollution prevention and control, enhance regional joint prevention and control and response to heavily polluted weather, improve environmental monitoring and law enforcement supervision ability, continuously deepen the achievements of air pollution control to improve air quality, and bring better and fresher air to the people.



The 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held in Beijing from September 4 to September 9. At the Beijing Hydrogen Energy Industry Policy and Project Release Conference held during the CIFTIS, Yin Yong, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Beijing Municipality, stated that developing the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCVs) complies with the capital's strategic positioning, which will play an important role in boosting the high-quality and sustainable development of the municipality's economy. Currently, Beijing municipality's HFCV industry has entered a state featuring cooperation between China and foreign countries, coordination between central and local governments, mutual development of industry-university-research system, and interconnection in Jingjinji Metropolitan Region.

Dai Wende, United National Development Program's Deputy Resident Representative in China, stated in his speech that Hydrogen Council's prediction shows that by 2030, the cost of hydrogen-related application will be reduced by 50%, making it more competitive compared with traditional energy. The total product of China's FCVs has exceeded 7,000 units, accounting for more than a half of the global total product. In other words, China is taking the lead in the market promotion of technologies in hydrogen energy and FCV sectors.


At the event, Jiang Guangzhi, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, officially released Beijing Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2020-2025). The Plan puts forward that Beijing municipality will highlight its role in policy guidance and industrial cultivation, lay a solid foundation as well as establish advantages in the FCV hydrogen supply chain, industrial collaborative development chain and vehicle promotion and application chain, and build a HFCV industry innovation high ground that is global leading and domestic cutting-edge with the advantages of regional coordination and radiate development. According to the Plan, by 2025, the capital city will foster five to ten leading companies with global impact in the HFCV industrial chain, strive to promote 10,000 HFCVs as well as build 74 hydrogen stations, and boost the cumulative output value of HFCV industrial chain to RMB24 billion.
