Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, together with the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China, organized industry organizations and key enterprises to revise the Management Specification on Road Test and Pilot Application of Intelligent Connected Vehicles (Trial). The draft for comments has been produced, and is now open to collect opinions from all walks of life.

This revision adds requirements for pilot application on the basis of road test, defines "road test", "pilot application" and "testing area (field)", extends the application scope from limited roads to limited areas, and clarifies that highways can also be used for road test and pilot application. At the same time, prefecture-level cities are included in the lists of provinces and cities where detailed implementation rules can be formulated and road testing and pilot application can be organized.
Over 2,000km of intelligent connected vehicle test roads have been opened in China by now, with more than 400 test licenses issued, and over 2,000,000km of road test finished. In terms of test policy, more than 26 provinces and cities have rolled out administrative rules for road test of intelligent connected vehicles.
The 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (known as "CIFTIS") was held in Beijing from September 4 to September 9. This CIFTIS highlights "dependence on technology", and makes full use of 5G, artificial intelligence, VR and other new technologies to improve the on-site service guarantee, among which the automatic driving experience has been the high-profile.

Within a few kilometers from Tianchen East Road on the east of the National Indoor Stadium, an automatic driving experience area has been set up and open to the public in the 2020 CIFTIS. The 6 experience vehicles in the area, including 3 autonomous microcirculation buses and 3 autonomous shared cars, present autonomous reciprocating cycle, which meets the demand of "point-to-point" short distance connection. There is a safety supervisor for each autonomous vehicle, to be responsible for explanation and emergency operation.

It is informed that the automatic driving experience project is coordinated by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, led by Professor Yang Diange from the School of Vehicle and Mobility Tsinghua University, and jointly advanced by Baidu, IDRIVERPLUS, Uisee, Beiqi Foton and others, comprehensively demonstrating the latest progress of China's automatic driving technology.
Among the autonomous vehicles shown at this CIFTIS, there are autonomous buses independently developed by domestic enterprises, in addition to the products based on the mass production vehicle platform. Baidu and Uisee displayed their own products. These autonomous vehicles realize artificial intelligence driving without steering wheel, accelerator pedal and driver, and can shift to the automatic driving mode with one click.
