The third session of thematicinterview series titled "Growing Together with CIFTIS", was successfully held in Beijing on January 9, 2024.The event was jointly planned and organized by the Beijing International Trade in Services Center and the Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events. Focusing on the topic of environmental services, representatives from six companies or institutions, including GGT (Beijing) Digital Technology Co., Ltd., Panasonic Appliances (China) Co., Ltd., Beijing Kaidexing Optoelectronics Information Technology Co., Ltd., Sycoretec CAS Co., Ltd., Beijing Chaoyang Environment Group, and Beijing Chaoyang District International Green Economy Association,alongwith media outlets, face to face exchanged their insights, and shared their stories about how they have been growing together with CIFTIS.
Zhou Ling, deputy director-general of Beijing International Trade in Services Center, attended and chaired the event, giving an overall review of the 2023 CIFTIS and its distinct features. This year's CIFTIS saw increased international participation, a pronounced emphasis on innovation, and enhanced audience interaction, with its benefits extending globally.
The total exhibition area of the 2023 CIFTIS was about 155,000 square meters, an increase of 3,000 square meters from its previous edition. Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the 2023 CIFTIS via video. The 2023 CIFTIS successfully hosted the Global Trade in Services Summit, the Promotion for "Invest in China Year", the signing ceremony for the Beijing Convention on the Judicial Sale of Ships and other heavyweight events, as well as more than 200 high-quality forums and conferences. 83 countries and international organizations attended the fair, an increase of 12 from the previous year. More than 2,400 enterprises participated in the trade fair onsite, and 6,700 enterprises online. The fair saw the attendance of approximately 300,000 visitors, hitting a record high, and secured more than 1,100 transaction achievements.
Liu Yunxue, general manager of the CIFTIS Center at Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events Co., Ltd., outlined the distinctive highlights of the Thematic Exhibition on Environmental Services of 2023 CIFTIS, and her preliminary plans for the 2024 edition. The Thematic Exhibition on Environmental Services won the "Excellent Thematic Exhibition" title at the 2023 CIFTIS, attracting numerous core players in the field, who leveraged their cluster role to host high-standard and popular events. At the 2024 CIFTIS, the Thematic Exhibition on Environmental Services will revolve around such themes as energy carbon reduction and sustainable development, incorporate an ecological mine sector in the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality exhibition area, and steer environmental services towards regional economic cooperation.
During the exchange session, company representatives shared their gains and experiences from participating in the 2023 CIFTIS, as well as their expectations for the 2024 edition.
Liu Siyang, deputy general manager of GGT (Beijing) Digital Technology Co., Ltd., unfolded the engaging story of the company's microbial organic waste disposal technology at the 2023 CIFTIS, which received detailed interview coverage from CCTV-4 and CCTV-17, resulting in greater enterprise exposure and more product technology orders.
Xu Haibo, director of Government and Public Relations at Panasonic Appliances (China) Co., Ltd., expressed that the company presented the five themes "Green Energy", "Excellent Store", "Smart Manufacturing", "Smart Travel", and "Pleasant Living" along with their associated products and solutions through a visual sand table at the fair site. This has led the public rediscover Panasonic - not only a provider of household appliance, but also a supplier of green intelligent products and technologies.
Zha Yong, chairman of Beijing Kaidexing Optoelectronics Information Technology Co., Ltd., stated that the company's participation in the CIFTIS has been extremely fruitful. The company not only displayed its comprehensive carbon peaking and carbon neutrality service operation chain, covering carbon peaking and carbon neutrality management services, carbon consulting and training services, and carbon assessment and certification. Additionally, it signed strategic cooperation agreements on carbon asset development with Tangshan Municipal People's Government and Karamay Municipal People's Government.
Duan Yujing, chairperson and general manager of Sycoretec CAS Co., Ltd., made an appearance at the exchange meeting, wearing a red windbreaker made from the new material developed by the company. At the 2023 CIFTIS, SYCORE-TEX, a new light and thin thermal insulation material developed by Sycoretec CAS attracted an array of visitors and media outlets thanks to its lightweight and insulating properties. As a result, multiple projects were signed subsequently.
Zhang Yanhui, manager of Strategic Investment Department at Beijing Chaoyang Environment Group, stated that the company put on a comprehensive display at the fair of their innovative technological achievements in the eco-environment protection sector. This included state-of-the-art urban waste treatment technologies, urban waste treatment demonstration cases, and an integrated demonstration park for the collaborative treatment of multiple urban wastes. Their showcase successfully captured the attention of foreign attendees. In addition, Beijing's first "zero-carbon industrial park" integrated carbon management demonstration project was also signed.
Zhu Lili, executive secretary-general of Beijing Chaoyang District International Green Economy Association, presented the association's efforts in organizing the 2023 CIFTIS carbon neutrality and green technology exhibition area and related forums. The association rallied 22 domestic and international businesses to participate in the fair, forming a "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" technology service cluster. It also hosted six related forums, including the Global Green Development and Carbon Neutrality Thematic Conference, yielding numerous significant outcomes.
The representatives unanimously expressed that CIFTIS has provided a perfect opportunity for businesses to display their products and technologies, while also facilitating deep inter-business exchanges. The CIFTIS, as a major exhibition platform, has triggered substantial spillover effects. They hoped that the CIFTIS will secure greater improvement and success in the years to come, attracting more global enterprises and creating more business opportunities. Furthermore, companies are committed to continuously empowering the green and high-quality economic growth in China and globally through the research and development of new technologies and the expansion of new businesses.
