Grandly opened for visitors on September 20, the Universal Beijing Resort, a new image of cultural tourism of the capital, brings together the classic entertainment experiences of universal theme parks worldwide, and provides immersive entertainment experiences like blockbusters for Chinese and global visitors in combination with Chinese cultural elements. The Resort is adding a unique charm to Beijing, a well-known historical and cultural city in the world.

At the opening ceremony, Chen Jining, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Beijing Municipality, pointed out that the completion and operation of the Universal Beijing Resort project has opened up new opportunities for the development of Beijing's cultural tourism, and will, in the days ahead, introduce more international, modern and fashionable elements into Beijing, a world famous historical and cultural city. We will take full advantage of its opening to strive for greater expansion of high-level opening, and further speed up the construction of "two zones". We should also exert every effort to build an international consumption center city, and take an active part in exploring effective ways for a new development paradigm. We will, as always, give support to the operation and development of the Resort, make an all-out effort to provide high-quality entertainment experience and services for visitors, and seek closer cooperation with all parties. In addition, we're about to implement the development and construction of follow-up projects, to lay a solid foundation for creating a world-class new landmark for cultural tourism.
The Phase I project of Universal Beijing Resort includes Universal Studios Theme Park, Universal City Walk Beijing, Universal Studios Grand Hotel and Nuo Resort Hotel. The Universal Studios Theme Park boasts seven theme scenic spots, each of which is provided with related amusement facilities, entertainment performances, specialty shops, and restaurants. In addition, there is a variety of colorful performances, such as stunt performances, musicals, dramas and parades in the Park, where various measures for pandemic prevention and control are strictly implemented, and safety checks of amusement facilities strengthened, so as to ensure its safe and stable operation.
2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (hereinafter referred to as "CIFTIS") was held in China National Convention Center and Shougang Park from September 2 to September 7. In the exhibition area of the city sub-center in Exhibition Hall 2, Shougang Park, the signature Kung Fu Panda of the Universal Studios Theme Park made its appearance on the exhibition stand, wearing a black and white coat and patched shorts, with its smile looking charmingly adorable. As the extension of the theme image of the Universal Studios Theme Park at the CIFTIS, it bows to everyone, or makes a finger heart sign, or shows symbolic Kung Fu movements from time to time, constantly attracting visitors to take a group photo.
In the Universal Beijing Resort, "Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness", the largest indoor theme scenic spot in the Park, can house tens of thousands of people. Visitors, no matter whether it is cloudy, rainy or scorching, can be assured to walk safely in the "Valley of Peace" where the movie hero Panda Po lives.
According to the relevant person in charge of Tongzhou District Cultural Tourism Zone Management Committee, after the opening of the Resort, it is expected to receive 12 million passengers per year, drive 70-plus upstream and downstream categories, directly or indirectly deliver benefits to over 100 industries, and create tens of thousands of jobs for the surrounding areas, thereby forming a complete industrial chain of cultural tourism. In the future, the cultural tourism zone will take the spillover effect of the Universal Studios Theme Park as the industrial base, attract and cultivate a number of cultural and technological enterprises in IP design, animation and game, performance and entertainment, make a layout with regard to some high-quality consumption facilities, and take an active part in building a national demonstration zone for the integrated development of culture, tourism and commerce.
At this CIFTIS, the intelligent platform technology based on steel structure utilized in the Universal Studios Theme Park also made a stage pose in the exhibition area. "To replicate the complex scenes in the movie, we take full advantage of 5G and big data technologies to optimize the best modular installation scheme through tens of thousands of intelligent simulations, and this was how the largest rockery in Universal Studios was built," said the relevant person in charge of China Construction Second Bureau Installation Engineering Co., Ltd. Similarly, the largest rockery in Universal Beijing Resort was created by the engineer team of China Construction Second Bureau (CCSEB) by making use of computer simulation control and modular construction, within which there are more than 10,000 components. Through the intelligent platform of digital information in the whole life cycle of steel structure, the rockery was therefore constructed in an efficient and high-quality manner. In the course of installation, the team made the most of this intelligent platform to optimize the best modular installation scheme through tens of thousands of intelligent simulations, leaving only 1/30 of the original workload for on-site workers.
