An interview dedicated to Engineering Consulting & Construction Services, which is the eighth session of the 2023 CIFTIS interview series titled "Growing Together with CIFTIS", was successfully held at China National Convention Center on March 28, 2024. The event was jointly planned and organized by the Beijing International Trade in Services Center and the Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events. Representatives from six enterprises, including Beijing Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (BCEGC), China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd. (CCTEB), China Construction Fifth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd., Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University Co., Ltd., Beijing Capital Development Holding (Group) Co., Ltd. (BCDH), and Beijing Jiankeyan Software Technology Co., Ltd., with media outlets, face to face shared their stories about how they have been growing together with CIFTIS.
Wu Yuhong, deputy director-general of Beijing International Trade in Services Center, attended and addressed the event. In his address, Wu highlighted that the year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. It is also a crucial year for implementing the 14th Five-Year Plan. The successful hosting of the CIFTIS was once again highlighted in the Report on the Work of the Government 2024, underscoring the significant importance of a triumphant CIFTIS event. After the 20th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee emphasized the overall mission to promote high-quality development and made clear the need to accelerate the development of new quality productive forces. This has provided new opportunities for the development of CIFTIS. In 2024, CIFTIS will continue to explore new event organization approaches and models through enriching its content and bolstering market operations. The fair will underscore its international, specialized, and market-oriented aspects, with a greater emphasis on its transactional functions. It will also provide accurate services such as supply and demand matching, trade matching, business talks and signing events, offering exhibitors and attendees an abundance of cooperation opportunities.
Liu Yunxue, general manager of the CIFTIS Center at Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events, chaired the session. She stated that with the joint efforts of the initiators and organizers, the Thematic Exhibition on Engineering Consulting & Construction Services has emerged as an open platform to the outside world for showcasing China's construction capabilities, manifesting the grandeur of a nation excelling in intelligent construction, and strengthening exchanges in the construction industry. The success of this thematic exhibition is largely due to the exceptional presentations made by the exhibitors. The event themed "Growing Together with CIFTIS" aims to sum up the fair organization experience, stimulate trade connections and in-depth dialogues among all attendees and exhibitors, and enhance the visibility and brand influence of enterprises. Liu expressed her hope that all enterprises and organizations would continue to utilize the CIFTIS platform to leverage their industrial strengths, share business opportunities, and jointly reap the benefits.
Meng Hailiang, head of the Construction Market Management Department at Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, gave a review of the Thematic Exhibition on Engineering Consulting & Construction Services of the 2023 CIFTIS. Themed "Intelligent Construction and Green Development", the thematic exhibition focused on the combined forces of "China's intelligent manufacturing, Chinese innovation, and Chinese construction", along with the industrial, green, intelligent, and international development. It showcased four key aspects: "numerous industry leaders from around the globe", "diverse and productive exhibition and forum activities", "unique technology-powered construction industry features", and "high-quality development of the industry on a global scale". As the 2024 CIFTIS is approaching, Meng affirmed that the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the industry's competent authority, will earnestly fulfill its role as the initiator for the fair organization. This necessitates partnering with international organizations, domestic and foreign institutions, and relevant industry enterprises to concentrate on the development of new quality productive forces, scrutinize the hot topics and technological advancements in the construction industry, and fully showcase the latest architectural technologies and their applications in the industry.
During the sharing session, representatives of participating enterprises shared the story of their participation in the 2023 CIFTIS, as well as the experiences and insights they gained.
Yang Zhenqing, deputy director of the Technical Quality Control Department at Beijing Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd., explained that under the theme "Building Cities with Craftsmanship, Steering the Future through Intelligent Construction", the group presented over 50 case studies, 17 sand tables and physical exhibits, and 7 BCEGC digital cloud control systems at the fair site. This fully showcased BCEGC's muscle from "constructing structures" to "building cities", letting the public get up close and personal with China's intelligent construction in the new era.
According to Pei Ziyan, manager of the Northern China Technical Information Department at China Construction Third Bureau First Engineering Co., Ltd., CCTEB showcased a range of its self-developed cutting-edge technologies at the Thematic Exhibition on Engineering Consulting & Construction Services in Shougang Park. She disclosed the bureau's technological feats behind the marvel of "building a floor in a four-day flash" and the supporting role of "digitally-enabled development" in work safety. Standout exhibits included the aerial building machine, residential building machine, and 5G tower crane indoor remote control system.
Zhang Ting, publicity director at the Beijing Branch of China Construction Fifth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd., said that the company's exhibition area was segmented into five key themes: Urban Renewal, Infrastructure, Industrial Upgrade, High-end Housing Construction, and the Belt and Road Initiative. At the exhibition site, China Construction Magic Cube displayed a range of advanced technologies and products. These included BIM-enabled facility operation & maintenance (O&M), 3D scanning technology, and intelligent O&M pump set assembly module. The true showstopper was the Changeable Interspace House, a self-developed product of the Fifth Engineering Division, which promises a future of green construction for flexible, large spaces.
Mo Xiuquan, vice president and deputy chief architect at Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University Co., Ltd., presented the institute's exhibition under the banner of "Tsinghua Design, Green Future". The exhibition featured 37 design elements exploring five key areas: "State Responsibility, Regional Exemplar, Urban Renewal and Rural Revitalization, Scientific and Technological Innovation, and Zero-Carbon Future". It painted a picture of a sustainable, green, and livable future for us all while showcasing the new generation of innovation achievements in the architectural design industry at home and abroad.
Zeng Rongzhu, deputy head of the CPC Publicity Department at Beijing Capital Development Holding (Group) Co., Ltd., stated that the company primarily showcased its latest practices and achievements in urban renewal, green development, and cultural innovation under the theme "Shokai Experience". Amid the event, BCDH entered into a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality with China Beijing Green Exchange, and also unveiled the second phase of the Shokai Ancient Architecture Comprehensive Service Platform.
Wang Yuheng, general manager of Beijing Jiankeyan Software Technology Co., Ltd., shared that the company's innovative products and solutions made their debut at the 2023 CIFTIS. These included a smart construction site platform, smart glasses, a hot work management monitoring box, a confined space toolbox, and an eco-friendly, smart, mobile multi-purpose rest cabin. They garnered widespread attention and high praise, resulting in a series of successful collaborations established on-site.
The representatives unanimously expressed that CIFTIS, as a state-level, comprehensive exhibition, exchange, and cooperation platform dedicated to trade in services with a global reach, has been a pivotal catalyst in promoting the innovative development of global service trade. They hope that the next CIFTIS can further expand its scale, attract more domestic and foreign enterprises to participate, and build a platform for displays and exchanges across the industry chain, so as to inject new impetus into global economic development. Moreover, they offered valuable suggestions on exhibition area planning, activity arrangement, and international exhibitor invitation, and expressed their desire to leverage the CIFTIS platform to showcase more innovative achievements, facilitate increased project collaboration, and further expand their brand influence.
