YOUR TASKS
Initiation and implementation of difficult research projects in the field of optimization and operations research.
Publication of research results in conference proceedings and journals of theoretical computer science and operations research
Support for the head of the institute in the organization and implementation of research, funding and teaching.
Teaching courses for undergraduate and graduate students. The amount of teaching determined according to the teaching obligation regulation for the Hamburg universities (LVVO) in its currently valid version.
Co-advising of graduate and undergraduate thesis students
YOUR PROFILE
Mandatory requirements:
Completed scientific university studies, in particular in the subject areas of mathematics, computer science, operations research, business mathematics or related degree programs
Above-average, completed or nearly-completed doctorate with a topic related to the research areas of the Institute for Algorithms and Complexity
Required professional knowledge and personal skills
Fluency in professional and scientific English.
Experience in producing and publishing research results in publications at high-impact computer science and mathematics conference proceedings and highly-ranked journals
Interest and skill in solving complex optimization problems using modern algorithmic techniques, such as approximation algorithms, parameterized algorithms, dynamic algorithms, mathematical programming, or related fields
Experience in teaching or tutoring courses in computer science, mathematics or operations research.
Familiarity with supervision of Bachelor and Master theses.
Team-oriented work attitude.
