Position Overview
The research group for "Secure Systems" at the LIT Secure and Correct Systems Lab is looking for post-doctoral level researchers with a passion for academic careers. The lab specializes in security engineering and security economics, focusing on applying quantitative methods, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence. The ideal candidate will have opportunities to conduct their own research and manage projects in various areas of IT security, including secure machine learning, security decision support systems, protocol design, formal methods, and more. Interdisciplinary approaches combining machine learning with classical security mechanisms are especially encouraged.
Job Duties
Conduct independent research in areas related to IT security and AI.
Pursue academic qualifications at the habilitation level.
Contribute to acquiring research projects and external funding.
Supervise students, teach classes, and conduct examinations.
Support institute administrative activities.
Foster national and international academic and scientific collaborations.
Participate in public relations and knowledge transfer.

Full-time employment (40 hours/week).
Minimum salary: €4,932.90 gross per month (14 x per year).

Requirement
Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics, or related fields with a focus on one or more of the following areas:
Applied security (network security, applied cryptography)
Game theory for security
Data science and AI with applications in security
Discrete mathematics
IT risk management
Security economics
Publication experience in the listed areas.
Experience with research projects (acquisition, participation, or leadership).
Programming experience (e.g., C, C++) is preferred.
Proficiency in English (at least B2 level), with German proficiency (C1 level) preferred or willingness to learn German within the first two years.
