About this position
Position Overview: A one-year full-time postdoc position is available at the G2OAT research group within the Department of Theoretical Computer Science at the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague, Czech Republic. The position is set to start in June 2025 (negotiable), with a possibility of extension.
Research Focus:
The position is centered on algorithmic and combinatorial game theory, with potential extensions to related fields such as:
Approximation algorithms
Parameterized complexity
Combinatorial game theory
Graph algorithms
Game theory and mechanism design
Classical and parameterized complexity
Integer linear programming
The research group, G2OAT (Graphs, Games, Optimization, Algorithms, and Theoretical Computer Science), is part of the Faculty of Information Technology at CTU, with a close-knit team of 2 associate professors, 6 assistant professors, 4 postdocs, and 6 Ph.D. students. The group's focus includes a mix of theoretical and applied research, offering an exciting opportunity for collaboration and contribution.
Location and Environment:
The successful candidate will work on the main campus of CTU, which is equipped with amenities such as the National Technical Library and various social spaces like cafes. The university's laid-back atmosphere enhances a collaborative and enjoyable research environment.
Salary:
Monthly salary: 65,000 CZK (~2,750 EUR)
Cost of living in the Czech Republic is about 66% of the US price level (OECD).

Requirement
Candidate Requirements:
Ph.D. (or equivalent) in computer science, discrete mathematics, or related fields, obtained within the last 7 years.
Strong background in combinatorics, graph theory, and foundations of algorithmic game theory or combinatorial game theory.
Specialization in the following areas is a bonus:
Graph algorithms
Cops-and-robber-type problems
Computational complexity or approximation algorithms
Ramsey theory and positional games
A strong publication record with at least 3 publications in high-impact journals.
Fluency in English (both written and spoken); prior knowledge of Czech is not required.
