About the position
The student will work within the intelligent systems group on topics related to exact and heuristic data-driven optimization algorithms for graph optimization problems. They will design and develop new data-driven optimization methods and apply them to case studies in decentralized financial markets and satellite telecommunications.
Tasks
Innovative basic research on data-driven optimization algorithms for graphs.
Development of applied research projects in collaboration with industrial partners.
Preparation of publications for top-tier journals and conferences.
Requirement
Technical background and skills
Master's degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
Practical experience in optimization and operations research.
Excellent programming skills, also in optimization languages and libraries.
Good mathematical skills.
Soft skills
Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
Ability to work in a team and in a collaborative environment.
Autonomy.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of advanced optimization algorithms (decomposition techniques).
Knowledge of exact and heuristic data-driven algorithms for combinatorial problems.
Preferably good knowledge of written and spoken Italian.
Good publication record.
