• 数学和编程功底扎实（如 Python/MATLAB）
• 具有科研论文发表经验者将被优先考虑
• 自我驱动，具备独立科研能力
• 优秀的英文口语和书面表达能力
• 英语成绩要求：TOEFL ≥ 90（单项不低于19）或 IELTS ≥ 6.5（单项不低于6）；可后补

导师介绍

王伟博士现为坎特伯雷大学（UC）土木与环境工程系讲师（相当于助理教授）。他于香港大学（University of Hong Kong）土木工程系在Professor S.C. Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Fully Funded PhD Positions in Transportation Engineering at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand (Supervisor: Dr. Wai Wong)

Research Directions

We are looking for motivated candidates to join our research group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Canterbury (UC). Our work focuses on advancing next-generation transportation systems and smart cities. Research directions include, but are not limited to:

• Connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV)
• Traffic control and signal optimization
• Navigation and routing strategies
• Operations research
• Big data analytics and machine learning

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

• Contract: 3 years, renewable annually subject to performance
• Start date: As soon as possible, 2025/2026
• Requirements:
• Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or closely related fields oStrong background in mathematics and programming (e.g., Python/MATLAB)
• Strong publication record preferred
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Responsibilities include conducting high-quality research, supervising students, preparing research proposals and reports

PhD Students (3 positions)

• Duration: 3 years (fully funded)
• Start date: 2025/2026
• Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or closely related fields
• Strong background in mathematics and programming (e.g., Python/MATLAB)
• Research publication experience preferred
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Excellent written and spoken English
• TOEFL ≥ 90 (min 19 each section) or IELTS ≥ 6.5 (min 6 each section); can be submitted later
• Benefits: Full scholarship and tuition fee covering; international collaborations and travel opportunities
• Remark: In addition to the advertised positions, I also welcome students who are interested in applying for a CSC PhD scholarship or joining through a CSC exchange programme under my supervision.

Supervisor

Dr. Wai Wong is a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in Transportation Engineering at the University of Canterbury. He obtained his Ph.D. at The University of Hong Kong under Professor S.C. Wong and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan with Professor Henry Liu. His research expertise covers big data analytics, traffic flow theory, CAV, traffic signal optimization, intelligent transportation systems. Dr. Wong has published in leading journals and conferences such as Transportation Science, Transportation Research Part B, Transportation Research Part C, IEEE Transactions on Intelligence Transportation System and ISTTT.
