About the position
LIMOS Laboratory, University of Clermont Auvergne, France
Start: ~September 2026 | Fully funded | 3 years
Part of a circular-economy initiative to optimise reverse supply chains integrating production scheduling, inventory routing and CSR indicators (human workload, CO₂ emissions).
Research focus – Remanufacturing & Inventory-Routing Problem with Pick-up & Delivery (RIRP-PD)
Multi-stage modelling: pick-up → job-shop scheduling with resource & fatigue constraints → delivery with time windows
Sequential & integrated mathematical models (MIP) and metaheuristics
Multi-period variants, emission minimisation, workload balancing
Each step targeted at top-tier conference/journal publications
Requirement
Required
Master’s in OR, applied mathematics, industrial engineering, CS or related
Strong programming (C++/Python/Java)
Solid knowledge of MIP modelling and solvers (CPLEX/Gurobi); heuristics/metaheuristics
Appreciated
Exact methods (B&B, Branch-and-Price, decomposition)
Interest in sustainability, human-centred systems, ML-for-optimisation
