Philip（创始人）: To ask the question what is happiness,(关于这个问题：幸福是什么？) that’s a really big question which the whole world wants to know the answer too.(那真是一个大问题，是个全世界都想知道答案。) But I am sure it’s got something to do with the fact that we are social animals. （但我很确定是，这个问题的答案与我们人类是社会性的动物的事实是息息相关的。）And the biggest thing that we as school leaders need to focus on is that these children need to be able to communicate with other people. （我们作为学校的负责人，最需要关注的大事情是这些孩子需要能够与其他人沟通交流。）
Tim（现任校长）: As a person, in this case, a student can only be happy if they are connected to people, and have an understanding of all-around ability.

Philip（创始人）: Certainly the happiness of our children, present happiness and future happiness is right at the top of our priorities, （很确定的是，我们孩子们的幸福，现在的幸福和将来的幸福都是我们的首要任务，）no question. （毋庸置疑，）So how can we possibly influence their future happiness？（那么我们要如何才能影响到他们将来的幸福呢？）
Former Student Catherine（以前的学生）: Happiness at FCS looks like...（幸福在菲兹洛伊社区学校就像...） a lot of different people who want to be here.（很多不同的人都想待在这里。）Being here, we see that kids are experiencing the joy of discovering the world in the community. （呆在这里，孩子们在这个社区里不断感受到的探索世界的快乐，这是非常积极的。）
Parent at FCS Megan（学生家长）:（说一些关于学校的事情，）I am quietly thinking I can see a pocket of happiness everywhere,（我仔细想了想，我看见一个装满幸福的口袋，而这个幸福的口袋无处不在。） and that’s in the tiniest interactions,（幸福是在很小的互动中，） it’s in an older child playing with maybe a baby of a staff member. （在一个大一点的孩子和学校员工的宝宝的玩耍中。）
Art Teacher Nikki（艺术老师）: Parents are having a cup of tea, having a nice chat, you see kids playing in the sand pit together.（幸福是父母们在一起喝茶，愉快地聊天，你也会看到孩子们在沙坑里玩耍。）
Lucy Parent at FCS（学生家长）: The kitchen scenes of Joelle preparing food, it’s like she is preparing food for an extended family. （幸福是乔伊在学校的厨房里忙著准备饭菜，她可是在为一个超大的家庭准备人人喜欢的饭菜。）
School Chaplain Sue（心灵咨询导师）: Someone might be helping someone else find a hat. There is real readiness and willingness for people to help one another.（有的孩子可能正在帮另一个孩子找頂帽子，有的孩子正在找可以帮忙的事情。人们随时准备好帮忙，并乐于帮助彼此。）
Head of Normanby Campus Wayne（诺曼比分校负责人）: I think the first thing it looks like...(首先它看起来就像...) you see the smiles on the kids’ face and them skipping around the yard or skipping to the classroom, （你会看到孩子们脸上洋溢着笑容，在校园里跑着跳着或是兴沖沖地去教室，）so that’s an indicator that they are feeling pretty happy. （这就意味着孩子们是很幸福的。）
Parent at FCS Megan（学生家长）：Why I think that children of Fitzroy community school experience happiness is because they feel such a strong sense of belonging.（我为什么觉得孩子们在菲兹洛伊社区学校是幸福的，原因是他们都有很强烈的归属感。） So the community is there, it really is the extended family model, （社区学校就在那里，它真的是一个扩展的大家庭模式。）where everyone knows everyone. （每个人都认识彼此，）And everybody is seen and everybody is heard, and they seem to be an authentic version of themselves.（没有人会被忽略,每个人的心声和话语都能被听到，他们似乎都在这里找到了真实的自己。）
School Chaplain Sue（心灵咨询导师）: I think in some groups or institutions, （我想在一些机构或组织当中，）there is a subtle message or idea about what an ideal person or member should be like. （会有这样一种思想信息：一个理想的、完美的人或成员应该是什么样子的。）And as hard as you look at it, （但只要你深入地思考它，）there is no such thing. （会发现这种事是不存在的，）So there really is freedom to be, in fact you are encouraged to be exactly who you are. （所以在这里你真的有自由，有勇气去做真实的自己。）
Parent at FCS Megan（学生家长）：And that is really all we can ask for in the world,（这就是我们在这世界上可以追求的，）so I think that fundamental aspect of the school creates an environment for happiness. （所以我认为社区学校的根本就是在为幸福创造环境和条件。）
Charlotte Year 2（二年级学生）: It’s just fun when in the morning, I am just so excited to go to school.

Enelsa Year2（二年级学生）: I am most excited about just being here.
（我觉得最激动的事情就是待在学校这里。）
Magnus Year 1（一年级学生）: That you get camps in Prep,（在5岁念预备学校的时候你就可以去露营，） and you get to go swimming（你可以去游泳，） and your parents give you money,（你父母会给你零用钱，） so you can go to the lolly shop with it, and buy some lollies. （然后你就可以带着钱去商店买棒棒糖。）
Ziggy Year 2（二年级学生）: Everybody knows everybody, and nobody excludes anybody.
（大家都彼此认识，没人会被排除在外。）
Enelsa Year2（二年级学生）: Usually there is always something for you to do.
(通常总是会有事情让你去做。)
Lucy Parent at FCS （学生家长）: I feel like it’s home schooling, （我感觉这就是一个家庭学校，）but I don’t have to do it at home so I am dropping the kids off at someone else’s home, a friend’s home. （但我不用在自己家里做这件事，所以就像是我把孩子安放到了某个人的家里，一个好朋友的家里学习，）But I know that the children are being educated very well but also looked after and loved and cared for. （但我知道孩子们是在接受良好的教育，同时也被关爱，并被照顾得很好。）
Art Teacher Nikki（艺术老师）: They have small class sizes so you are not trying to manage huge numbers of kids.（他们实行小班制，所以你不用尝试管理很多孩子。） It’s not impersonal, you are able to go around the classroom and help all the children that need to be helped. （这是人性化的教育方式，你可以在教室走动，然后帮助那些需要帮助的孩子。）
School Chaplain Clotilde（心灵咨询导师）: I think it’s the trust of the teacher which has allowed us to let the children take more risks than in a normal setting. （我觉得，是由于老师们的信任允许我们让孩子们在遵守规则的情况下尝试冒险。）We have less fear of all the regulations, and so we are free to explore and reach a much broad experience.（我们对所有的规则不再感到害怕，这让我们能够自由地去探索，进行更广阔地尝试。）
Tim（现任校长）: In reflecting on our contribution to happiness at our school, a number of things came to mind.（在反思我们对学校幸福感的贡献时，想到了许多事情。）The first thing that came to mind was I call“agency ” which is your experience of your own ability, your experience of doing things, your experience of success, of contributing. （首先映入脑海的是，我称之为"能动性"，也就是你对自己能力的体验，你做事成功的体验，和贡献的体验。）
Parent at FCS Megan（学生家长）：There are really high expectations on all the children in terms of anticipation and effort, whether it’s in the classroom or on sports day or just taking care of a younger child or cleaning up. (无论是在教室，还是在体育日，还是在照顾一个年纪小的孩子亦或是在打扫卫生，对于孩子们的参与和努力都会有很高的期望。）They are all required to participate and give their best effort. And what does that mean is that all the children feel like they are needed,（他们都被要求参与其中并尽力而为，这意味着所有的孩子都会觉得他们是必不可少的。） they are useful around school and that their role in school life is essential to the running of the school. （他们对于学校有很大的帮助，他们的学校生涯对于学校的运营是很至关重要的。）I think this is really a fundamental aspect of them coming out of the school feeling like they want to contribute to their community and that they belong in their community and that they have something to give. Faye（创始人）: Humans are social animals, and need to live for well-being and happiness in a community, a society. （人类是社会性动物，需要在社区和社会中美好而幸福地生活。）So, we want to be contributors to that society and not just passengers. （所以，我们会想要成为对社会有所贡献的人，而不是无所事事的过客。）
Philip（创始人）: Well everybody knows that the way you live your life as a child has a big effect on how you live the rest of your life. （每个人都知道，为什么你童年的生活对你之后的生活有很大的影响。）So it’s well worth getting that right, getting that balance, getting that wholeness and forming the necessary skills – namely, interpersonal communications. ( 所以，非常值得找到正确的方法，找到平衡点，取得整体发展，形成必要的人际交往能力。)
Faye（创始人）: Occasionally I ask the children directly this: what have I done on any one day to make my space a little bit better. （有时我会直接问孩子们：我每天都做了点什么，让我的生活周边变得更好一点。）
Parent at FCS Nicole（学生家长）: Someone once told me that happiness was three things, （有人曾经告诉过我，幸福就是三件事：）it was something to do, something to look forward to, and someone or lots of people to love. （有要做的事，有所期待的事和有所爱的人。）And I think here this school fulfills all of those things really well,（而我觉得这所学校充满了这三件事，孩子们总是有事情可以去做，总是活力十足地参与他们所做的事情中，）There is always something to look forward to, whether it’s a camp or concert or any excursion or just seeing their friends and teachers the next day.（也总是有一些期待的事情，比如露营，音乐会，远足或是简单地期待第二天能够再见到的同学和老师。）And there are so many people to love and the children can feel they are loved. So, I think that happiness just encompasses everything found in this school. （有很多人的可以去关爱，孩子们也会感觉到被爱。所以，我觉得在这所学校找寻到的所有事情都浓缩成了幸福。）
School Chaplain Clotilde（心灵咨询导师）: It’s full of friends and family and love. Lots of love and sharing and fun.
