In order to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Laos, 'Sparkle for youth 2024 summer program' will focus on the 3 themes, "Science and Technology“+" International Public Welfare "+"Cultural Exchange". Our goal is to cultivate a group of "Young Ambassadors for International Public Welfare" with a global perspective and a sense of responsibility, so that they can gain understanding of the construction and development of the "B&R Initiative".

Visiting Chinese-funded enterprises and industrial parks in Laos, the youth will learn about the achievements of China's "B&R" strategy, learn about the development of industrial operations, investigate how enterprises build ESGs under the framework of the "B&R", and how they enhance the well-being of the people.

In order to understand the UN SDGs (SDG4: Quality Education) , and to improve the knowledge and humanistic qualities of the Lao people, the students will participate in the construction of a "Science Lab" at Phiawath Complete Secondary School, and become "Mentors" to run a "Science and Technology Co-Creation" program for the local students. Experiencing the full range of international public service activities, and guide their peers to learn and grow.

Experiencing Muti-Cultural Exchange
Laos, known as the "Land of a Thousand Buddhas", is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious country with rich natural heritage and cultural history. This programme will provide an in-depth experience of the history, traditions and folklore of Laos, and through immersive experience and interaction, students will gain a deeper understanding of its social-economic development, so as to better strengthen mutual understanding and exchanges between young people of the two countries.

The Shenzhen x Lancang-Mekong Initiative has been written into a white paper titled“The Belt and Road Initiative: A Key Pillar of the Global Community of Shared Future”released by the State Council Information Office on Oct, 2023. At the same time, Foundation delegation to Laos to carry out the "Sparkle for youth” action, donated rain shoes, science and technology teaching aids and other urgently needed living and educational materials. The series of actions have gained great attention from all society, including the media.

Foundation's Introduction
Founded in December 2014, Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation (SFIEC) is the first non-profit organization in China to promote international exchange and cooperation and assist the construction of international city. Mr. Ma Weihua, the president of China Entrepreneur Club and the former president of China Merchants Bank, Mr. Lang Lang, the United Nations’ Messenger of Peace, and international pianist, and Mr. Chen Shiyi, former president of Southern University of Science and Technology, etc., serve as the honorary presidents of SFIEC. The members of the council are well-known entrepreneurs, scholars, industry association leaders, media people, etc. in Shenzhen.
