
HKEX has been traveling around the Mainland to give seminars to potential listed issuers, with the latest stop in Beijing on Monday. The session was co-organised by PwC, Tianyuan Law Firm and InvestHK to introduce potential issuers to the Hong Kong capital market and answer questions about Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect.

It’s the latest in a series of stops around the Mainland, with the most recent ones in Foshan, Guangdong Province on 20 May that drew 60 companies. Jiang Qing, Deputy Director of the Foshan Government said in his welcome speech that the government always encourages Foshan companies to leverage the Hong Kong market to develop further.

HKEX and the Jiaxing Financial Service Office (“JiaxingFSO”) also held an IPO training seminar in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province on 18 May. Representatives from over 40 local companies attended the seminar to explore how Mainland companies could achieve their “Go Abroad” goals with support from the Hong Kong capital market. Bao Yuqiong, Director of Jiaxing FSO also attended.

HKEX has previously held seminars in Henan, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Fujian and Hainan provinces this year, and plans many more to come. More seminars for potential issuers will be held in Xinjiang, Shandong and Anhui in the coming months.
