
HKEX teamed up with the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) to hold a university training workshop in Shanghai last week. Around 100 students and alumni from the Master of Finance (MF) Programme at SAIF attended the bilingual workshop.
Professor Li Feng, Deputy Dean of SAIF and Head of the MBA & MF Programmes spoke to the class to open the workshop. He said the training provided by HKEX can help students and alumni better understand global capital markets and inspire future leaders in the financial industry.

HKEX Chief China Economist Professor Ba Shusong delivered the keynote speech on international capital markets and pricing assets in RMB. He introduced his research on RMB internationalisation and how to develop RMB denominated financial products against the backdrop of the currency’s integration into the global monetary system. The RMB’s internationalisation process will have a deep impact on the career path of financial industry professionals, he noted.

Speakers from HKEX’s Shanghai office also introduced corporate finance and offshore listings, and updated the students on the latest Stock Connect programme and RMB currency risk management. HKEX speakers also interacted with the class to deepen their understanding of Hong Kong’s markets.
