More than 23,000 representatives from Mainland new economy companies, investment companies and industry associations gathered in Beijing for the HICOOL 2021 Global Entrepreneur Summit on 10 to 11 September, where HKEX representatives shared the latest development of Hong Kong’s capital markets and the benefits of a Hong Kong IPO.
The introduction of new Listing Regime in April 2018 has helped transform Hong Kong’s capital markets by offering new economy companies new ways to list in Hong Kong. As at 31 August 2021, 165 new economy companies have listed in Hong Kong since the new listing rules took effect.
HKEX’s Senior Vice President of Global Issuer Services Winnie Han said in her keynote speech that the new Listing Regime has helped cultivate an innovative ecosystem in Hong Kong, further enhancing the attractiveness and competitiveness of the Hong Kong markets. HKEX looks forward to welcoming more new economy companies to raise capital in Hong Kong, fuelling and supporting the growth of these innovative companies.
HKEX’s Vice President of Global Issuer Services Sarah Zhang added that new economy companies has helped reshape Hong Kong’s capital market. Hong Kong has become one of the leading fundraising hubs for new economy companies in the world, attracting growing interest from international investors and companies.
