Kung Hei Fat Choi! HKEX celebrated the first trading day of the Year of the Rabbit this morning with a market opening ceremony and a spectacular lion dance performance.
HKEX Chairman Laura M Cha said HKEX will continue to strengthen its role as a superconnector between China and the world in the year ahead, forging deeper connections between global markets and supporting the world economic recovery. HKEX also seeks to further enhance the market’s standards for ESG and drive more initiatives related to green and sustainable finance.
CEO Nicolas Aguzin said 2022 was a productive and busy year for HKEX despite the challenging macroeconomic and geopolitical backdrop, and the second half of the year showed signs of encouraging momentum in the IPO market and derivatives market. He believes 2023 will shape up to be a year of new opportunities, as HKEX continues to enhance the competitiveness and vibrancy of Hong Kong’s market.
