进入 21 世纪以来，国际上铅酸蓄电池的研发和生产发展很快，其应用领域进一步扩大并逐步细分。目前电池种类大致可分为：汽车启动电池；电信后备支撑电池；UPS 用电池；动力电池；储能电池；汽车起-停电池等。它们的工艺技术有所不同，在电池添加剂材料方面差别很大。这对添加剂材料研发、生产和供应商来说提出了更为广泛和更为严格的要求。比如，长循环寿命电池、高温用、低温用电池、高功率电池等需要各自专门的添加剂。
目前，世界铅蓄电池的生产重心已移向亚洲，中国已是全球最大的蓄电池生产国，电池品种繁多，电动自行车电池和正在兴起的低速电动汽车电池是中国的特色。国内添加剂市场金科力公司处于领先地位，其蓄电池研发中心是产品测试和开发的基地，金科力公司与挪威鲍利葛公司是长期战略合作伙伴。

联合实验室将审时度势，引领潮流，针对不同电池对添加剂的具体性能的要求，研发不同功能特性的木素添加剂。同时开展添加剂在电池（特别在负极）中的作用的研究工作和添加剂材料的筛选搭配工作，并进行电池测试、验证工作；开发专门用途的高性能添加剂以满足行业的多种需求。

Sincethe 21st century, the R&D and production of lead acid battery develop veryfast and the applications have also been widen and subdivided. At present,there are different kinds of batteries including automotive starter battery,telecom back-up battery, UPS battery, motive battery, energy-storage batteryand start-stop battery. The production technology and process differ, so do theadditives, which will have a higher and more strict requirement
on thedevelopment, production of battery additives supply. For instance, long cyclelife applications, high and low temperature applications and high-rateapplications will need specific additives.
Now the worldproduction center of lead acid battery has moved to Asia and China has becomethe largest battery producing country worldwide. China market also featureswith diversified types of batteries, E-bike battery and emerging low-speed EVbatteries. Based on thefast technology development of lead battery and urgent requirement of highquality additives, Borregaard and Jinkeli have agreed to set up a joint lab inZibo. The joint lab will combine the advantages of the in-depth lignin andbattery research from Berregaard with R&D center and technicalcollaboration with battery makers of Jinkeli, which will lay a good foundationfor the development and application of existing and new products. The researchteam is made up of technical team of Jinkeli and product development expertsfrom Borregaard. The lab will be equipped with various kinds of advancedtesting instruments and equipment. Both Jinkeli and Borregaard will invest onthe R&D center and appoint experts to work together in the lab.
The aim of thejoint lab is to research and develop lignin battery additives with differentfunctions and various types of high performance properties to satisfy the unique needs of different batteries. Meanwhile thelab will also start the research of additives functions in the platesespecially for negative and additives selection, and also perform the batterytests and verifications as well as develop different high performance additivesfor various applications.
We believe the jointlab will contribute to the supply of high quality and performance additives forlead acid battery industry and promote the progress of battery technology withboth parties’ joint efforts and consistent work.
