About the British Chamber of Commerce-Guangdong (BCC)
The British Chamber of Commerce-Guangdong (BCC) is seeking an Executive Manager, an Events Manager to begin work in Guangzhou, and a Shenzhen Membership Services Manager as soon as possible.
BCC has approximately 200 corporate members in Guangdong and is one of the largest and most active foreign chambers of commerce operating in the province. Its role is to promote and foster close business ties between Guangdong Province and the UK through:
- providing a forum for members to meet and share experiences,
- organising regular social and business events,
- working with the British Consulate General Guangzhou and other official government bodies on trade missions, high-level visits, seminars, and other business functions,
- developing links with government authorities, other chambers of commerce, and businesses in Guangdong and beyond.
Executive Manager Job Description
BCC is searching for an Executive Manager to manage its Chamber in Guangzhou. The ideal candidate will lead and manage teams in Guangzhou and Shenzhen offices, report to the Executive Committee, and introduce new systems and business plans. Candidates should have a strong marketing background to maintain excellent relationships with long-standing and new members.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze member needs and deliver high-quality solutions,
- Provide leadership to foster growth,
- Weigh costs and benefits to determine the best course of action,
- Analyze past and current performance to improve membership and profitability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience,
- Strong planning and management skills,
- Excellent verbal, written, and organizational abilities,
- Fluent spoken and written English; Mandarin preferred,
- Significant international experience in the UK or other English-speaking countries.
Events Manager Job Description
The Events Manager will be responsible for planning and implementing the Chamber’s annual events program, reporting to the BritCham Committee and Executive Manager in Guangzhou.
Responsibilities:
- Manage staff responsible for event coordination,
- Oversee the annual events program,
- Calculate and adjust budgets,
- Book venues and negotiate fees,
- Prepare invitations and flyers,
- Research new event topics and speakers,
- Promote events using various channels,
- Analyze event performance and prepare metrics presentations,
- Define BritCham brand through events.
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of working experience,
- Good knowledge of business and industry in Southern China,
- Sales-oriented mindset,
- Marketing or business development experience, preferably in an international organization,
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Photoshop, and website knowledge.
Shenzhen Membership Services Manager Job Description
The Membership Services Manager will be responsible for maintaining relations and servicing BCCGD members, reporting to the BCC's Executive Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the Shenzhen office,
- Research UK companies in Guangdong,
- Identify and recruit prospective members,
- Answer membership and stakeholder inquiries,
- Support the Chamber’s Event Manager in organizing events,
- Work closely with the Guangzhou team,
- Filing weekly membership updates,
- Assist with BCCGD strategic direction,
- Regularly attend networking events.
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of working experience,
- Good knowledge of business and industry in Southern China,
- Sales-oriented mindset,
- Marketing or business development experience, preferably in an international organization,
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Photoshop, and website knowledge.
