去年，中巴两国双边贸易额一举突破了千亿美元，创下历史新高。不仅如此，中国还是巴西的主要投资来源国之一，中资企业在巴投资的领域从最初的农业、采矿业已扩大至电信等新兴领域。
据彭博社11月11日报道称，中国表示，巴西很有可能将会选择华为作为合作伙伴来建立其5G移动网络。据了解，本周，中巴两国将举行单独的双边会议，其中就包含了可能讨论华为将在明年竞标巴西的5G频谱拍卖的事宜。此前，巴西也曾收到过美国给予的网络安全“劝告”。
对此，中国方面表示相信巴西能在选择华为设备一事上优先考虑自身的发展利益，而中国驻巴西大使杨万明更是回应到：我对中国和巴西在5G方面的合作充满信心！
