The prize for the winning startup (10 filtered from applications, 1 winner):
Return flights for 1 person from their country of residence to Dubai (between 15 – 18 October 2023) depending on the arrangements by the Dubai World Trade Centre
Accommodation for 1 person for a maximum of 4 nights in Dubai depending on the arrangements by the Dubai World Trade Centre.
A 2sqm fully built and branded startup pod to exhibit at Expand North Star in Dubai 15th-18th October, 2023.

Hosted by Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy (DCDE) and set to take place from 15 – 18 October 2023 at the Dubai Harbour, Expand North Star shall present a new creative format to extend its engagements with the startup community. As the startup section of Gitex Global, the largest tech show in the MENA region, Expand North Star is the flagship platform for startups to shine as well as grow through interactive Q&As, mentorship, product showcase, meetings, pitch competitions and conference sessions.
Across four days Expand North Star will present some of theworld’s best startupsfrom over 100 countries, welcome 1000 VCs to raise funds and scout for their portfolio and deliver unprecedented content program debating the big stories of 2023 including funding winter or flash storm & tsunami of generative Ai startups, and 50+ unicorn founders on stage give their opinions.
Dubai has been working hard to transform the city from a regional heavyweight to become a global digital economy capital and tech hub. Roughly half of the US $2.87 billion in VC investments raised across the MENA region (excluding Israel) flowed into the UAE in 2021, with the vast majority going to Dubai-based startups. Dubai has always been known for its strong entrepreneurial spirit. 96% of all funds raised in the UAE since 2017 have been raised by startups headquartered in Dubai. This makes Dubai attractive for both local startups as well as regional and global startups looking to become Dubai transplants.
