British Chambers' Outreach Initiative
Led by its Chairman, Nicholas Holt, the British Chamber of Commerce in China has launched its first-ever ‘door-knock’ outreach to London promoting the historical Position Paper. The main objective is to meet with British politicians, officials, and organizations to discuss issues impacting daily operations between UK and Chinese companies and explore opportunities for the UK post-Brexit.

Day 1
The outreach began with a launch event hosted by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) in London. Director General Adam Marshall announced that the China chambers are now “official international affiliates linking into the UK national network as well as the global BCC network”. This milestone strengthens UK-China member interconnectivity.

All Party Parliamentary China Group
The delegation then moved to the Houses of Parliament, meeting officials from the All Party Parliamentary China Group. Nicholas Holt, Chairman of BritCham China, presented the Position Paper alongside several delegation members, warmly received by Richard Graham MP. He welcomed future discussions and anticipated the Paper feeding into the upcoming Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) in June.

Day 2
Foreign Affairs Committee
On day two, the delegation presented to various UK business organizations and Tom Tugendhat MP, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Discussions focused on past, present, and future UK-China relations, perspectives of UK businesses operating in China, and challenges faced by British enterprises in China. They called for increased engagement, understanding, and collaboration between the UK and Chinese governments.

Confederation of British Industry (CBI)
