四个外国人，面对面聊他们的成都创业故事

Four foreign entrepreneurs share their Chengdu-based entrepreneurial stories. 

1. Daisy Velven Peak (UK) 葛燕希（英国）

老外here联合创始人 Co-founder of Laowai Here

Daisy来自英国伦敦，毕业于英国诺丁汉大学，中国文学硕士，毕业后来到成都，创立了“老外HERE”。老外HERE是西南地区首家专注外籍人力资源，为外籍人才在华提供全方位工作生活服务的人力资源平台，同时他们有高频率在国内和海外举办一系列国际文化活动，推广中国文化和企业，吸引更多的外籍高层次人才来中国工作或创业。

Originally from London, Daisy came to Chengdu after graduating from the University of Nottingham with a Masters in Contemporary Chinese Studies. Not long after, she co-founded ‘Laowai Here’. 

Laowai Here is an International HR Service Platform focusing on providing comprehensive work and life services to foreign talents in China. Laowai Here also holds cross-cultural events and offers policy consultation services, helping bridge the gap between local and foreign resources. 

2. Ivo Schalkwijk 周逸飞（荷兰）

橙子联盟联合创始人

Co-founder of Orange Community

在这个荷兰小伙研读房地产与建筑管理的求学岁月中，IVO对两件事产生了浓厚的兴趣: 

1 中国大城市的城市化和发展;

2“西化中国食品”现象。

他决定去上海留学，在那里呆了一段时间后，他来到了成都。 时代的光芒照耀这片东方大地的时候，那些兴趣和构想在ivo的眼里闪着光。 他在这里创建了Orange Community，开始了他的创业之旅。

（橙子联盟）是一个支持成都当地企业的国际商务社群，为企业家和志同道合的人提供一个共享资源、网络和特定渠道的平台。

During his studies (Real Estate & Construction Management) and younger years in The Netherlands, Ivo got fascinated by two things: 

1) The urbanisation and development of Chinese mega cities, and 

2) the phenomenon of “westernised Chinese food”.

He decided to study abroad in Shanghai and after staying there for a while he came to Chengdu. 

Now he works as project manager at About Asia and recently co-founded Orange Community. About Asia promotes business and cultural exchange between China and Europe, with a focus on innovation topics and creative industries. 

Orange Community is an international community that supports local businesses in Chengdu and offers entrepreneurs and like-minded people a platform to share resources, network and specific requests.

2. Phil Crimmins (USA) 从云（美国）

汉语蓝图联合创始人

Co-founder of Mandarin Blueprint

Phil Crimmins来自美国费城，在四川大学留学期间，他总结出一套独特的学习汉语技巧。他将学习汉字的顺序重新归类，从顺序、发音、偏旁、意义四个角度重新梳理，用编故事的方式来加强记忆，仅用两年就通过了汉语水平六级考试（通常需要4年专业学习才能通过）。2016年，Phil与好友Luke Neale成立了“汉语蓝图”学习机构，专门教外国人学汉语。除了汉语说得6，Phil还是一名鼓手。

Phil Crimmins is from Philadephia, USA. He and his partner devised a Chinese-learning methodology to help foreigners better master the notoriously complex language. 

With his high-efficiency Mandarin learning techniques, Phil went on to pass HSK 6 in only two years of study time (it typically takes four years to pass). 

In 2016, Phil and his friend Luke Neale started “Mandarin Blueprint”, specializing in teaching Chinese to other foreigners. In addition to speaking great Chinese, Phil is also a superstar drummer. 

4. Raj Rafael (Hungary) 李斐（匈牙利）

成都拉斐尔建材创始人

Co-founder of Chengdu Rafael

李斐本名拉斐尔，出生在匈牙利，会说5国语言。酷爱熊猫的李斐15年前来到中国，2013年定居成都，并在成都成立了一家建材公司。来到成都后，他不但开始适应四川方言，更积极分析城市化发展的趋势，开始经营建材生意，将德国的地砖技术引进了成都市场。这也是中国第一家引进这种技术的公司。

Rafael was born in Hungary. He loves pandas, and came to China 15 years ago, settling in Chengdu in 2013 where he set-up a building materials company. 

Rafael is an epic multilingual, speaking five languages. In Chengdu, he soon started picking-up the Sichuan dialect. After analyzing local urbanization trends, he decided it was the right time to get into the building materials business, and he introduced German paving tile technology into the local market. Rafael’s company is the first in China to have introduced this technology.
