Director, Business Environment & Policy Analysis
Location: Beijing
Salary: RMB 37,500 to 40,000/month
The UK’s decision to leave the EuropeanUnion creates an unprecedented opportunity to reshape UK-China trade and investment related policy. At the same time China’s continued opening up and reform, including initiatives such as Belt & Road and Made in China 2025, are opening up new areas of opportunity. CBBC is appointing a Director to lead a small, dedicated team seeking a competitive and sustainable outcome both for our members and the wider British business community.
We are seeking an individual with excellent communication, research and analytical skills. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate logical decision-making whilst managing high-level projects.
The Director, Business Environment & Policy Analysis will be required to lead, develop, and deliver CBBC’s strategic analysis output across a range of business issues, including areas such as market access, trade policy, intellectual property, and rule of law for business.
Key responsibilities:
Leading a small dedicated team in monitoring policy development and the business environment in general, identifying what issues mean for UK-China trade relations and translating them into value/revenue generating products and services;
Developing thought leadership on research areas, initiatives and programmes including securing funding;
Developing and maintaining relationships with key UK political and business stake holders in China, including Diplomatic Posts
The Director, Business Environment & Policy Analysis will work closely with our teams across the UK and China as well as external partners.
Specific Requirements:
Knowledge of international trade policy and business development issues
Exceptional analytical and writing skills, including bid-writing (native English/equivalent)
Experience of undertaking successful collaborative research.
A well-developed network of government/political contacts in China
A good understanding of UK-China trade and investment issues in the global context
An excellent understanding of principles and practice of performance management
Strong written/spoken Mandarin skills
