1.Fill Out the Online Visa Application Form
Visit the official "China Online Visa Application (COVA)" website at (https://cova.mfa.gov.cn/) to complete and submit the visa application form digitally.
Carefully read all system instructions and ensure that all provided information is precise, comprehensive, and truthful. Note that once submitted, the form cannot be altered.
Choose the appropriate visa application location according to the designated consular district.
Verify that personal details exactly match the information on the passport's information page, including any middle names.
If born in China (encompassing Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan), furnish the necessary details.
Complete the sections on work history and educational background, specifying job titles and responsibilities.

2.Gather the Necessary Documentation (Example for Q2 Visa)
Original passport and a photocopy: It should be valid for over six months and contain at least two blank visa pages.
Visa application form and confirmation page: Print, sign the confirmation page, and also sign Item 9 of the form.
A recent passport-sized photo with a white background.
An invitation letter from a relative in China: This should include a copy of the inviter’s ID card (both front and back), essential information about both the inviter and the invitee, the invitation's purpose, and the intended duration of stay.
Proof of legal residence or stay in the applicant's home country.
Photocopies of any previously acquired Chinese visas (if relevant).
Family member information: Include the names and dates of birth for parents, spouse, and children.
The applicant's Chinese name, contact number, and home address.

3.Book an Appointment for Document Submission

4.Submit Documents and Pay the Fee
Bring all required documents to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center or the Chinese embassy/consulate at the appointed time to submit the application and settle the fee.
Some applicants may need to provide ten fingerprints. However, exemptions apply to individuals under 14 years old, those over 70 years old, and holders of diplomatic passports.
5.Await Processing
The typical processing time for standard visas is usually 4-5 working days. An expedited service is available for an extra charge.
