1、The current situation of relations between Cameroon and China: Friendly and profound, with diverse cooperation
一、双边关系与政治合作
自1971年3月26日建交以来，喀麦隆与中国始终秉持真诚友好、平等相待的原则，双边合作在政治、经贸、人文等领域取得显著成果。政治领域，两国高层互访频繁，政治互信持续深化。2024年1月，中国国务院副总理刘国中率团访问喀麦隆，分别会见喀总统比亚与总理恩古特，就双边关系及各领域合作深入交换意见，为两国关系发展注入新动力。
二、经贸与人文合作
经贸合作是中喀关系的核心领域，中国连续多年稳居喀麦隆最大贸易伙伴，并为其基础设施建设提供主要融资支持。截至2022年末，中国对喀直接投资存量达3.9亿美元，主要出口机电产品、高新技术产品，进口原油、天然气和木材。人文交流方面，两国签署文化合作协定，文化交往密切，中国艺术团多次访喀演出，喀国家现代舞艺术团亦曾参与北京奥运会与上海世博会。教育合作中，中国自1959年起接收喀留学生并提供奖学金，孔子学院注册学员近1.3万人；医疗合作自1975年持续至今，累计派出23批医疗队共761人次，目前仍有25名中国医疗队员在喀工作。
I. Bilateral Relations and Political Cooperation
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties on March 26, 1971, Cameroon and China have maintained a sincere, friendly, and equal relationship, achieving remarkable results in political, economic, trade, and cultural cooperation. Politically, high-level exchanges between the two countries have been frequent, deepening mutual trust. In January 2024, Chinese Vice Premier Liu Guozhong led a delegation to Cameroon, meeting with President Biya and Prime Minister Ngut to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation across various fields, injecting new momentum into the development of relations.
II. Economic, Trade, and Cultural Cooperation
Economic and trade cooperation is a cornerstone of China-Cameroon relations, with China serving as Cameroon's largest trading partner and primary financier of infrastructure projects. By the end of 2022, China's direct investment stock in Cameroon reached $390 million, primarily exporting mechanical and electrical products and high-tech goods while importing crude oil, liquefied natural gas, and timber. In cultural and people-to-people exchanges, the two countries have signed a cultural cooperation agreement, with Chinese art troupes frequently visiting Cameroon and the Cameroon National Modern Dance Art Troupe performing at the Beijing Olympics and Shanghai World Expo. Educational cooperation includes China accepting Cameroonian students since 1959 and offering scholarships, with nearly 13,000 students enrolled at the Confucius Institute. Medical cooperation, initiated in 1975, has seen 23 batches of medical teams totaling 761 personnel dispatched, with 25 Chinese medical team members currently serving in Cameroon.

签证类型
喀麦隆人来华签证类型多样，常见的有工作签证（Z签证）、学习签证（X签证）、商务签证（M签证）、旅游签证（L签证）等。
工作签证（Z签证）：适用于来华工作的喀麦隆公民。申请人需凭有效《外国人工作许可证》或《外国人工作许可通知》申办。
学习签证（X签证）：面向来华学习的喀麦隆学生。申请人需提供中国境内招收单位出具的录取通知书原件及复印件、《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》（JW201或JW202表）原件及复印件等材料。
商务签证（M签证）：适合因商务活动来华的喀麦隆公民。申请人需提供中国境内贸易合作方出具的商务活动文件、经贸交易会请柬等邀请函件，以及邀请单位营业执照复印件（如有）等材料。
旅游签证（L签证）：用于来华旅游的喀麦隆公民。申请人需提供往返机票订单和酒店订单等行程材料，或中国境内旅行社出具的具体旅游行程安排，以及个人经济能力证明（如银行存款证明等，可选但有助于提高签证通过率）。
办理流程
确定签证类型：根据来华目的选择合适的签证类型。
准备申请材料：根据不同的签证类型准备相应的材料，如护照、签证申请表、照片、身份证复印件、邀请函件、录取通知书、工作许可通知等。
在线预约：登录中国签证申请服务中心网站（如中国驻喀麦隆大使馆指定的签证中心网站）进行在线预约，选择合适的预约时间和地点。
递交申请：按照预约时间，携带准备好的申请材料前往签证申请服务中心递交申请。工作人员会对材料进行初步审核，如材料不齐全，会要求补充。
缴纳费用：根据签证类型和办理方式，缴纳相应的签证费用。费用标准可在签证申请服务中心网站查询。
等待审核：签证申请将由签证申请服务中心转交至中国驻喀麦隆大使馆进行审核。审核时间一般为4 - 5个工作日，但具体时间可能因申请人数、季节等因素而有所不同。
领取签证：审核通过后，申请人可选择亲自前往签证申请服务中心领取签证，或选择邮寄方式收取签证。
Visa type
Cameroonians come to China with a variety of visa types, including common ones such as work visas (Z visas), study visas (X visas), business visas (M visas), and tourist visas (L visas).
Work Visa (Z Visa) : Applicable to Cameroonian citizens coming to China for work. Applicants need to apply with a valid "Foreigner's Work Permit" or "Notice of Foreigner's Work Permit".
Study Visa (X Visa) : For Cameroonian students coming to China for study. Applicants are required to provide the original and a copy of the admission notice issued by the recruiting institution within China, the original and a copy of the "Visa Application Form for Foreign Students to Study in China" (JW201 or JW202 form), and other materials.
Business Visa (M Visa) : Suitable for Cameroonian citizens coming to China for business activities. Applicants are required to provide invitation letters such as business activity documents and trade fair invitations issued by trade partners within China, as well as copies of the business licenses of the inviting units (if any).
Tourist Visa (L Visa) : For Cameroonian citizens traveling to China. Applicants are required to provide travel materials such as round-trip air ticket orders and hotel orders, or specific travel itinerary arrangements issued by domestic travel agencies in China, as well as proof of personal financial capacity (such as bank deposit certificates, etc., optional but helpful to increase the visa approval rate).
Processing procedure
Determine the visa type: Select the appropriate visa type based on the purpose of coming to China.
Prepare application materials: Prepare corresponding materials according to different visa types, such as passport, visa application form, photo, copy of ID card, invitation letter, admission notice, work permit notice, etc.
Online appointment: Log in to the website of the China Visa Application Service Center (such as the visa center website designated by the Chinese Embassy in Cameroon) to make an online appointment, and select the appropriate appointment time and location.
Submit the application: At the appointed time, bring the prepared application materials to the Visa Application Service center to submit the application. The staff will conduct a preliminary review of the materials. If the materials are incomplete, they will be requested to be supplemented.
Payment of fees: Pay the corresponding visa fees based on the type of visa and the processing method. The fee standards can be found on the website of the Visa Application Service Center.
Waiting for review: The visa application will be transferred by the Visa Application Service Center to the Chinese Embassy in Cameroon for review. The review period is generally 4 to 5 working days, but the specific time may vary due to factors such as the number of applicants and the season.
After the visa application is approved, the applicant can choose to collect the visa in person at the visa application service center or by mail.
