Position Summary
Plan, direct and coordinate activities to procure materials and services at the best possible cost of ownership for the manufacturing operations. Partner with manufacturing leaders to achieve savings and leverage economies of scale in the sourcing of parts and its raw materials.
Must have a clear understanding of stakeholder needs and technical aspects of the sourcing and procurement function and related policies in order to organize, develop and manage projects efficiently.
Major Accountability
Leading the cost reduction initiatives to achieve the continuous improvement on the material cost
Support the NPI projects, make sure the projects meet the critical milestones are met
Identify and develop the valued suppliers
Manage the supplier chains, optimize the supply chain and prevent the supply risk
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for leading, developing, and coaching the Sourcing Team. Provide performance feedback through formal and informal means. Develop sourcing, negotiation and continuous improvement expertise among the team.
2. Utilize and apply basic sourcing, supplier relationship and inventory management principles with a continuous improvement methodology to drive down the total cost of ownership.
3. Assess the current spend and reduce costs through supplier negotiations or process improvements. Assess market conditions and manage costs of key materials that have significant impact on inventory.
4. Perform analysis of supplier spend data together with resp. buyer and process metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Share information internally through the different procurements units creating a compelling case for change.
5. Conducts monthly department meetings providing updates to the different departments involved in the procurement on key activities and identify areas of improvements.
6. Conduct performance reviews with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations to address issues and pursue opportunities
7.Responsible to approve parts for purchase in engineering change management report
8.Make the annual capex and expense budget for sourcing dept
