The Company
Our client is a leading manufacturer of specialty additives worldwide. The company was founded in 2005 by partners from Germany, the Netherlands, Malaysia, and China. It currently has its main production base in China, with a capacity exceeding 20,000 tons per year. R&D centers are established in both the Netherlands and China.
We are seeking a PhD in Organic Synthesis or Polymer Science with a strong academic background and extensive industrial experience to join our R&D team in China. The position requires the candidate to possess the ability to perform complex chemical syntheses in a laboratory setting and have experience in scaling up laboratory achievements to industrial production. It is particularly emphasized that the candidate must have hands-on experience in high-pressure reaction operations to support our cutting-edge R&D projects in specific fields.
Location: Nantong, Jiangsu Province, China
Duties
Conduct innovative research and development in organic synthesis or polymer materials.
Independently design and execute complex synthetic routes, addressing technical challenges during R&D.
Lead the operation and process optimization of specialized equipment such as high-pressure reactors, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Develop and optimize scale-up processes from laboratory to pilot and industrial production.
Skillfully operate various analytical instruments for chemical structure characterization and analysis.
Prepare detailed research reports, experimental records, and patent application documents.
Collaborate effectively with multinational teams in an environment where English is the primary language of communication.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements: Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field.
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a chemical laboratory.
Professional Background: Solid background in organic synthesis or polymer science.
Core Skills: Proficient in chemical structure analysis instruments and methods (e.g., NMR, MS, HPLC, GPC, IR, XRD, etc.). Must have experience in industrial-scale production. Candidates with experience in high-pressure reaction operation and R&D are particularly preferred.
Language Proficiency: Excellent English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, capable of adapting to an English-speaking work environment.
