Brazil puts Santos’ Tecon 10 to auction
The upcoming auction for Tecon 10 – a new mega container terminal at Brazil's Santos Port (Latin America's largest) – has attracted strong international interest from global operators and Asian infrastructure funds. Scheduled for Q4 2025, the timeline remains subject to regulatory approval by Brazil's Federal Audit Court (TCU).
"Tecon 10 is central to modernizing Santos Port and aligns with Brazil's logistics competitiveness goals," stated Fabio Rigotti of Moffat & Nichol. He noted potential bidders include global terminal operators, shipping lines, and regional players, adding: "Brazil's strategic market fundamentals offset political risks despite regulatory concerns."
The 25-year concession requires $988m total investment, including $450m for terminal construction. Initial infrastructure upgrades ($150m-$200m) will cover dredging works and capacity expansion, aiming to increase port throughput by 50%.

该25年特许经营项目总投资约9.88亿美元，其中4.5亿美元用于码头建设。特许经营方将在协议初期投入1.5-2亿美元实施基建设施升级与产能扩建，包括新码头作业区及泊位疏浚工程。项目建成后，港口吞吐能力预计提升50%。
China Expands Duty-Free Access to 53 African Nations
China has announced a landmark trade policy adjustment granting comprehensive duty-free market access to 53 African nations, including Nigeria—a move set to reshape China-Africa trade relations. Previously, only 33 least-developed African countries enjoyed such benefits.
This expansion forms part of China’s broader strategy to deepen economic cooperation with Africa amid growing U.S.-China trade tensions. If fully implemented, the zero-tariff regime will enable nearly all Nigerian goods—from farm produce to manufactured goods and solid minerals—to enter the Chinese market without import duties.
Amid intensifying global competition for major market access, this policy offers significant leverage. For Nigeria, the duty-free access will substantially boost non-oil exports in sectors like agriculture, textiles, solid minerals, and manufactured goods—priority industries where Nigeria has long sought to diversify.

China and Indonesia Partner to Build 3M Ton Steel Plant
PT Krakatau Steel Indonesia and China's Delong Steel Group (world's 11th/largest steelmaker) will construct a new integrated steel complex within Krakatau Industrial Estate in Cilegon, Banten. The 500+ hectare facility targets 3 million tons annual output for high-grade steel production and green steel development.
In May 2025, Krakatau Steel visited China to sign an MoU on raw material procurement with Delong, witnessed by Delong's chairman. Early June saw Delong/PT Dexin Steel Indonesia delegations inspect Cilegon's infrastructure including ports and existing plants. Subsequent Jakarta meetings confirmed steel complex construction as the core collaboration focus.
This partnership advances Krakatau Steel's vision to establish Cilegon as Southeast Asia's green steel hub. Land provision through PT Krakatau Sarana Infrastruktur will facilitate technology transfer and eco-friendly steel R&D. Delong recognizes Cilegon's strategic advantages with established infrastructure and is currently conducting comprehensive investment feasibility assessments.
中国和印尼合作建设年产三百万吨新钢厂
印尼PT Krakatau Steel集团与中国德龙钢铁集团（全球第11大、中国第7大钢铁生产商）旗下PT Dexin Steel Indonesia在万丹省芝勒贡市Krakatau工业区合作建设新钢厂，占地面积超500公顷。目标是建设年产能300万吨的综合钢铁厂，生产高质量钢材并探索绿色钢铁开发。
2025年5月，Krakatau Steel代表团访问中国，在德龙董事长的见证下，与德龙签署了原材料采购谅解备忘录。6月初，德龙及Dexin代表团考察芝勒贡厂区，实地评估拟建厂址及现有配套设施（如港口、钢铁厂），双方在雅加达进一步洽谈，明确合作重点为钢厂建设。
本次合作将推动Krakatau Steel将芝勒贡打造成东南亚绿色钢铁中心的愿景，通过PT Krakatau Sarana Infrastruktur提供土地，促进技术转移与环保钢铁研发。德龙集团认可芝勒贡地区成熟基础设施带来的战略优势，目前正开展全面投资可行性评估。
