Recently, container shipping is facing various difficulties such as low demand, increased capacity and weather events, these are impacting reliability on routes.

Drewry indicated that from week 50 (December 8-14) to the second week in 2026 (January 5-11), shipping lines canceled 64 of 719 itineraries, which is around 9% planned sailings, shows the strategy of operational continuousness, since a projected decrease of 1% in available capacity will occur in January next year.
