- 全球每年浪费的食物约有13亿吨，而这其中只要有25%被保留，就能够养活8.7亿的饥饿人口。
- 全球有17亿人缺乏饮用水，每年约有200万人死于饮用被污染的或者不清洁的水。
- 因为全球变暖的原因，约700个物种正面临灭绝的危险。

Do you know what significance these numbers have?
- Globally, 1.3 billion tons of food is wasted per year. If just 25% of all wasted food was conserved, 870 million starving people could be fed.
- 1.7 billion people lack access to potable water and every year, approximately 2 million people die from drinking polluted or dirty water.
- Due to global warming, around 700 species are threatened with extinction.
在自然环境逐渐恶化，极端天气频繁出现的当下，环境保护变得越来越重要。为了提高环保意识以及庆祝3月22日的世界水日，希尔顿亚太区收益管理整合中心（下称RMCC）在本周开展了一系列活动。
As our environment deteriorates each year and extreme weather becomes more common, people start to put more emphasis on environmental protection. In order to raise awareness as well as to celebrate World Water Day on March 22nd, RMCC held various activities throughout the Earth Week.

从周一到周五，每天的主题都不相同：美丽星球、动物保护、全球变暖、人如其食、灾难预警。我们精心挑选了与主题相符的电影、纪录片、Ted演讲，并在办公室的公共区域循环播放。除了主题相关的活动外，每个人也可以选择用自己的方式表达对环境保护的支持。例如离开办公室时重复确认灯是关的，吃饭时注意不要浪费食物，用纸的时候尽量两面都用到等等。
Each day from Monday to Friday was assigned a specific topic: Beautiful Planet, Animal Protection, You Are What You Eat, World Water Day and Global Warming & Warnings of Catastrophes. Movies, documentaries, and Ted Talks that were aligned with the “theme of the day” were delicately selected and displayed on the public screen of the office for everyone to watch. On top of attending themed activities, everyone was also encouraged to create his or her own initiative and contribute to the environment individually like turning the lights off before leaving the office, reducing food waste, and making full use of both sides of paper, etc.

We also organized a themed charity photo auction in our pantry this week. We delicately selected 16 photos/painting from 111 submissions. All these photos displayed as well as a painting were taken and created by our team members. And we'll donate the total income of the auction, ¥3,125 to the Renewal Center, a charity organization located in Minhang, Shanghai. Turn off the water while brushing your teeth
Take public transportation, walk, or ride a bike instead of driving
Replace standard bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs)
Unplug appliances when you are not using them
Turn off the lights when you leave the room
