阔别已久的RMCC专题人物采访这一次带着重磅嘉宾和最新鲜的内容与大家在深冬相见，本期我们邀请到的嘉宾是RMCC新晋海外区(JKM&AUA)总监Monica Yong，作为RMCC总监中唯一的女性领导者，应该具备怎样的特质，在她身上都发生过什么样有趣温暖的故事呢？大家拿起小板凳儿，放下耳朵，今天我们就一起来展开说说

Chapter-1


首先，先和大家打个招呼也做一个自我介绍吧

Hello RMCC social buzz的小伙伴大家好，我是Monica，今天很开心可以来参与这个采访，其实我的工作经历相对比较简单，我是2014年毕业于英国埃克塞特大学，研究生学位，主修专业是会计与金融，RMCC是我第一份工作，从2014年加入RMCC之后我就没有离开过了，我从最开始的Revenue Analyst到Cluster Reveue Manager再到Senior Cluster Revenue Manager，今年7月升职成为 RMCC Director of JKM&AUA, 8年时间希尔顿一直陪伴我，见证我，我有幸和希尔顿一起成长。


  1. Can you please give us a brief introduction of yourself?


Hello RMCC social buzz! Thank you for inviting me for this session. I’m Monica, and I’ve been with Hilton RMCC APAC for 8 years. I joined the center back in July 2014 just after graduating from the University of Exeter with my Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance, meaning Hilton RMCC was my first formal job. I was able to grow from a Revenue Analyst to a Cluster Revenue Manager, then to a Senior Cluster Revenue Manger to what I am today – Director of RMCC looking after the Australasia & Japan/Korea regions. I’m very proud to be part of the RMCC family throughout my journey!




Chapter-2


那当初是什么样的契机选择了RMCC？当你进入RMCC之后，有想过会在RMCC一路成长到今天的这个职位吗？





当初是RMCC做校招，我刚好听了，听过之后，觉得RMCC的工作内容很吸引我，一个我是金融会计专业嘛，很多时候和数字打交道，RMCC的工作是可以把数据和数据背后的故事结合在一起，就会让数字也变得有意义，不会那么单调，再一个就是，RMCC虽然base在上海但是其实有机会可以看到APAC的酒店，可以了解APAC各个酒店的不同情况和故事，有一种我在上海看世界的既视感，这两点是我选择RMCC的主要原因，当初真的没想到能在希尔顿这么久，这些都是惊喜。


  2.  Why did you choose RMCC?

I attended one of RMCC’s campus recruitment events in May 2014 and was really fascinated by the role of a revenue manager – it’s about telling the stories behind the numbers and effectively communicating the strategies with stakeholders.

在这一路的成长中，对于你来说，收获最大的是什么？

收获最大的是我结交了一群良师益友，刚入职的时候，我在Clay的小组里，Clay带我入门，带我了解酒店这个行业，数据分析，后来我做收益经理负责澳洲的酒店，和Frank进行更多的交流，他给到我工作上的指点，帮助，反馈，告诉我应该怎么样提升，酒店的stakeholder也会和我分享很多酒店的故事，让我更深入的了解到酒店具体的情况，我的导师也会经常和我聊天，了解我的动态，开导我，这些年我收获到的最多的是良师益友们对我的帮助和支持，成长为今天的我吧!




  2. What has been the biggest achievement for you?


I have to say it’s the people that I get to know and work with. We can only be strong with the people around us. We learn from each other, and the leaders within Hilton are very generous in providing feedback and coaching. When I first joined RMCC as an analyst, I was on Clay’s team. He helped me build the knowledge of hospitality industry and revenue management that I needed to grow within the team. In 2016, I became a Cluster Revenue Manager managing 4 Northern Territory properties in Australia. Frank Fery was my first Regional Director of Revenue, and he played an important role in strengthening my revenue capabilities.

作为RMCC的女性领导者，你认为什么样的品质是最重要的？应该通过怎样的方式可以拥有或者提升这种能力呢？


无论什么时候都要主动吧，主动学习，主动沟通，主动融入， RMCC也提供了很多的资源帮助你更好的了解酒店的各个部门，运营，财务，宴会..对，主动能给你自己创造很多的机会吧，总结一句话就是主动人生成大业，怎么样提升… 第一个是要始终保持开放的想法，不要给自己设限，第二个就是有了想法就大胆去做，不要犹豫不决，只有你做过了才能知道到底能不能成，第三个就是别怕犯错.

 

What are the qualities you value at work?

   
I would say it’s being proactive with an open & growing mindset. Always passionate about learning new things. One thing I really appreciate about RMCC is that it provides a great platform for people to learn, and it supports its team members to explore different sorts of opportunities. I also believe that having the flexibility to adapt in this dynamic environment is key to success.

I’m ISFJ. People of this type tend to be more conventional and grounded, enjoy contributing to established structures of society.  Celebrities of this personality type are Beyonce and Queen Elizabeth II. It’s also one of the most common types in the population.

日常生活中，如果你觉得有压力你用什么样的方式来解压呀？除了乒乓徒步之外，还有别的方式可以和大家分享吗？

运动，在RMCC我们有跟了我们很久的乒乓球台，有时候一天工作累了或者脑子一下子宕机了，我们都会摇人去打球，哪怕打上10分钟，都会有不一样的效果，打乒乓我是真的还挺感兴趣的，日常换脑选乒乓，除了乒乓我还会游泳，小时候专业游的那种，然后平常追剧，出去和好朋友一起吃饭聊天，没疫情的时候经常出去旅游都是我解压的方式.


  1.  What are the activities you do to reduce pressure?



I love sports. In the RMCC office, we have a long-established tradition of playing ping pong. The ping pong table has been with us for over 5 years. We moved it from the old Bund Center office to the current New Bund Center. It’s a good way to switch on and off quickly, refreshing our brains. I also love swimming and hanging out with my friends for food & drinks. Before Covid, I often went traveling to take advantage of our Hilton benefits – Go Hilton Team Member Rates!

最后一个问题，对于刚毕业要找新工作的大学生，你有什么经验是可以分享给他们的呢？


第一个就是，我们一直在招人！

经验说不上，就是始终相信你自己，大胆去尝试，你一定可以！


  1. Anything you would like to share with the new graduates?

We are hiring! I would say be confident about yourself. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. We all make mistakes as human beings, it’s what we learn from the mistakes that make us grow. One of my GMs once told me that every expert was once an apprentice. As leaders, we empower our team members to make decisions by themselves so that they can grow.
