11月18日下午,受希尔顿大中华区及蒙古人力资源部的邀请,希尔顿亚太区收益管理整合中心的收益总监Mikael,收益副总监Clay来到复旦大学,为旅游管理专业硕士项目的同学们上了一堂别开生面的收益管理课。

On Saturday November 18th, both Mikael Bouchet (RMCC Director) and Clay Gu (RMCC Assistant Director) were invited by the Hilton GCM Regional HR team to present the Art of Revenue Management to a class of MTA program students at Fudan University.

复旦大学旅游学系于2010年获旅游管理硕士专业学位(MTA)授予权。项目采用课堂教学、行业实践和导师指导相结合的方式,力图通过两年半的系统培养,通过全日制/非全日制的培养方式,使得学生的旅游管理能力得到提高。部分课程直接邀请国内外具有丰富管理经验的旅游行业资深人士亲临课堂系统授课,介绍和评述旅游管理理论与实践中的前沿问题。

Started from 2010, Fudan University MTA (Master of Tourism Administration) program adopts a combination of training method including classroom teaching, practice in industry and mentor guidance. Through two and half years of full-time/part-time training, the program aims at improving students' ability of tourism management. For some courses, both domestic and foreign senior members of tourism and related industry with rich management experience are directly invited to give onsite training by introducing and reviewing the frontier issues in tourism management theory and practice.

希尔顿与复旦大学旅游管理专业有着悠久的历史和融洽的关系,但对我们来说,这也是亚太区RMCC成立5年以来首次走进校园进行此类活动。随着RMCC的不断成长和壮大,我们希望今后能通过此类活动有更多与年轻一代的收益管理人才直接交流和互动的机会,也希望能为RMCC吸引更多人才。

Hilton has a long-standing and harmonious relationship with the department of tourism of FDU. However, this was the first time that the RMCC Asia Pacific team has had the opportunity to collaborate with the campus. As we get ready for future expansion, we hope to have more chances to directly communicate and interact with this generation of future revenue management talent in the future.

Mikael在讲解收益管理的黄金法则/Mikael introducing the goden rules of RM

毫无疑问,收益管理是我们的专长,但是收益管理并不仅仅是管理收益而已。为了能将收益管理的概念和要点以生动有趣形式深入浅出地传达给同学们,Mikael和Clay在开课之前进行了非常认真的准备。

There is no doubt that yield management is our specialty, but revenue management is about so much more than that. The aim was to convey all these principles and concepts to the students in fun and interactive ways. Credit must go both Mikael and Clay for their diligent preparation before the class.

持续将近4小时的课程非常充实:Mikael跟Clay先对各自在RMCC的成长经历和工作职责进行了简短的介绍;之后Clay主持了一个紧张而有趣的模拟收益管理游戏,寓教于乐,激发同学们对收益管理的兴趣,并让他们了解收益管理之于酒店的重要性 。热场活动之后,Mikael跟大家阐述了我们是如何将科学与艺术融入收益管理中的。他通过大量的图表和实例讲解了11条收益管理的【黄金法则】和成功的收益管理应当遵循的5个步骤。最后,Clay进行了总结并对RMCC进行了介绍 。

A four-hour lecture is not for the faint of heart. Mikael and Clay gave a short introduction respectively of their growth, working experiences and job responsibilities in RMCC. After that, Clay hosted a competitive but fun simulation yielder game that entertained and stimulated students’ interest in revenue management and let them understand the importance of revenue management to the hotel. Then, Mikael went about explaining where science and art converge in our discipline. Through a large number of charts and examples, he explained the eleven golden rules of revenue management and the five steps to be followed for revenue management success. Clay tied it all together by introducing how we do this at RMCC.

在整场活动期间,同学们热烈互动,踊跃提问。Mikael、Clay耐心为大家解答,课堂上迸发出一个又一个智慧的火花。

Students warmly and enthusiastically interacted with our guest speakers throughout the whole lecture as Mikael and Clay patiently answered everyone’s questions. Spark of wisdom burst out one after another in the classroom.

Sylvia向大家介绍千禧一代团队成员资源小组/Sylvia Introducing MTMRG

除了传授收益管理的知识,希尔顿大中华区及蒙古数字创新经理Sylvia还 上台向大家介绍了希尔顿全球内部的一个年轻人的组织“千禧一代团队成员资源小组(MTMRG)”。目前我们中心有95.3%的团队成员都是千禧一代(注:千禧一代不是指千禧年之后出生的人,而是指千禧年后步入职场的人)。通常,年轻人走在创新的前沿并且敢于发声。他们能够发掘全新的看待问题的角度和优化解决问题的方法。随着时代的发展和科技的迭代,团队成员年轻化也将是希尔顿全球的趋势。我们向在场的学生们发放了电子问卷,希望能通过问卷了解在旅游相关专业/行业的年轻人对旅行及酒店的看法,并且在今后制定市场活动计划和进行数字营销时进行参考。

In addition to the revenue management knowledge imparted, Sylvia, Manager of Digital Innovation for GCM, took the stage to introduce "MTMRG (Millennials Team Member Resource Group)", an organization within the Hilton for the younger generation of team members around the world. At present, 95.3% of RMCC team members are millennials. (Note: Millennials doesn’t refer to people who born after 2000s but who started working after 2000s). Usually, young people are at the forefront of innovation and dare to ask how things could be rather than how they are. They can discover new ways of problems solving and solution optimizing. With the development of the era and technology, the younger team members getting younger will also be the global trend of Hilton. We distributed e-questionnaires to the students, hoping to find out about young people (who’s in tourism-related professions/industries)’s opinion about travel and hospitality, and will take into consideration in future digital marketing plans making.

Hilton's Revenue Management Consolidated Center(RMCC) established in 2004. The current 4 running centers are located seperately in Watford, Dallas, Shanghai and Dubai. We offer hotels world-class revenue management talent, tools and business process. We find, develop and motivate the best revenue management professionals, fitting their experience to the need s and profile of each individual hotel. 

In September 2012 Hilton opened its 3rd RMCC office in Shanghai, China. The center now manages 121 hotels spanning the entire Hilton brand portfolio with over 41,000 rooms and over $1.4 billion room revenue in 82 cities across 14 countries.
