In November, RMCC welcomed an old friend. He was part of the RMCC startup team and the center’s first senior revenue manager. In the first 3 years, the number of team members has increased sevenfold, and the number of hotels has increased by dozens. In the meanwhile, Frank also grew with center - He had been promoted from senior cluster revenue manager to assistant director. 4 years later, returning to RMCC as our senior director, what he would like to say to the team? What’s his vision for RMCC for the next 10 years? Let's meet the protagonist of today's article – Frank Fery.

大家好,我是Frank,我有一半法国,一半德国的血统,并且拥有澳大利亚的永久居留。我在德国出生长大,并先后在瑞士和美国学习国际酒店管理。我的父母都在旅游行业工作,两个兄弟在酒店行业工作(跟我一样也在希尔顿)。因此,我自然而然地走上了酒店行业的职业发展道路。
在2010年来到上海,并成为上海希尔顿酒店的收益经理之前,我曾在慕尼黑,巴塞罗纳和巴黎有过工作经历。2012年,一组小团队成员被委派在上海开设希尔顿亚太区收益管理整合中心(下称RMCC),我就是其中的一员。当时首家加入我们的酒店就是香港港丽酒店。之后,我以高级区域收益经理和收益副总监的身份在RMCC一共工作了3年。在此期间,RMCC的团队成员从5名扩张到了35名,与此同时,管理酒店数增加到了50家。之后我离开RMCC,前往悉尼担任澳新区的区域收益管理总监。4年之后,本月,我以高级收益总监的身份重新加入RMCC团队。我非常期待能与这里的老朋友和新朋友们再次相聚。

RMCC成立之初你就已经在了。当初为什么选择加入RMCC?那时候的RMCC是什么样的呢?
我笃信一个协作的,多元化的团队是一定会成功的。当“在上海开设办公室“的想法第一次被提出来的时候,我非常激动并且期待能在这个地区开展这样一个有发展预期的项目。对我来说,这是个很好的机会,让我能够借此提高我的商业管理技能,并迅速在整个亚太地区获得来自不同市场经验。
在2012年我们接入第一家酒店的时候,当时只有5名团队成员,并且和希尔顿预定及客户关怀中心(HRCC)共享办公室。我在这个小团队里和大家一起工作,并见证着RMCC的酒店和团队成员的规模呈指数级增长,最终推动RMCC的酒店比非RMCC酒店有更好的业绩。鉴于我们在开始就获得了成功,之后越来越多的酒店陆续加入RMCC,对我们来说这也是非常有挑战性的。

为什么你会选择再回到这里工作?4年后重返RMCC,你有什么感想么?
对我来说,这是一个绝佳的机会让我能够再次和这么多收益管理人才们在同一个办公室工作。我喜欢团队协作。此外,能够带领一个将近100人的团队让我觉得非常兴奋。

RMCC在过去的7年里的成就非常显著。这些年来,整个亚太地区正经历着前所未有的发展。借着这股“东风“,我们壮大了RMCC,开辟和很多意义深远的职业发展道路,并设定了“支持亚太地区80%酒店的收益管理”的目标。接下来10年,我希望我们能够保持过去七年创下的功绩,继而不断壮大,使RMCC成为亚太地区最协同、最成功的团队。
作为我们今年的创新活动 “速递日”的评委之一,对于这个项目你有什么想说的么?
在任何行业中,创新都是成功的关键因素。“速递日”就是一个很好的活动范例——从中我看到了许多团队成员积极参与其中,并为改善办公环境和加强我们的商业成功提出一些新的点子。我非常期待看到每个团队成员都有能够持续创新,从而推动我们商业伙伴的业绩。

有什么职业发展的建议想跟大家分享的?
我的建议是:找到你自己喜欢的事情,保持耐心,并且对新的机会保持开放的心态。永远不要停止学习。保持好奇心,多问问题。花点时间去地剖析自己,建立个人品牌。学会如何与他人合作——做一名善于团队协作的人非常关键。尊重自己与其他团队成员之间的关系,建立自己的“关系网“。在这个技术迅猛发展的时代,孤军奋战是行不通的。因此,要有目标性地与他人建立关系。如果以上这些你都能做到,那么最终你能获得不仅仅是职业的进步,而是人生的进步。
业余时间,你都有哪些爱好呢?
我是个很“好动“的人;我喜欢去户外享受大自然。当然,我也会定期去健身…对我来说健康的灵魂与健康的体魄同样重要!

1. Please give us a brief introduction of yourself.
Hi everyone, I am Frank, and I am half German, half French holding permanent residency for Australia. I was born and grew up in Germany and studied international Hospitality Management in Switzerland and the US. Both my parents worked in the Tourism Industry and two of my three brothers’ work in the hotel industry (yes, also with Hilton); so, for me it was just natural to pursue and international career in hospitality.

I gained work experience in Munich, Barcelona and Paris before moving to Shanghai in 2010 as Revenue Manager of Hilton Shanghai. In 2012 a small group of team members were selected to open the APAC RMCC office in Shanghai where we boarded our first hotel: Conrad Hong Kong. I worked for three years in RMCC APAC as Senior Manager and Assistant Director growing the team from 5 team members to 38 managing up to 62 hotels before moving to Sydney as Regional Director of Revenue Management for Australasia where I have been for the past four years. I have now just recently re-joined the RMCC APAC team as Senior Director and I am looking forward to returning to Shanghai and to the RMCC team.
2. You were with RMCC at the very beginning. Why did you choose to join RMCC for the first time? What was the center like?
I am a big believer of collaboration and creating strong, diverse and successful teams. When the idea was first presented to open an office in Shanghai, I was excited to start this project especially with the anticipated growth in the region. It was a great opportunity for me to develop my commercial and stakeholder management skills and quickly gain experience across the distinct markets throughout Asia Pacific. In 2012 when we boarded our first hotel, we were just 5 team members and shared the office with HRCC. It was exciting to work together as a small team and see the office expand exponentially to ultimately drive significantly stronger commercial performance compared to hotels which were not in the center. Given our initial success, there were times we had challenges keeping up with the growing demand of hotels wanting to join the center.

3. Why did you choose to come back again? How do you feel returning to the RMCC after 4 years?
I believe it is a great opportunity to work again with so many talented team members in one office. I love working in a team and I feel very excited about this new opportunity leading a team with around 100 team members.
4. We have just celebrated the center’s 7th anniversary this year. As the Senior Director of the center, what’s your vision for RMCC for the next 10 years?
What RMCC has achieved in the first 7 years is phenomenal and with the unprecedented growth we are currently experiencing in Asia Pacific we have the opportunity to continue grow our center, create meaningful careers and target to support 80% of all APAC hotels. My vision is to continue the great work that has been achieved over these past seven years, to go from strength to strength ultimately making RMCC the most collaborative and successful team in the Asia Pacific region.

5. You were invited as one of the judges for our innovation event – Su Di Day this year. Any comments for this event?
Innovation is key to success in any business. SuDi Day is a great initiative and it was great to see so many engaged team members creating new ideas on how to improve the office environment and strengthen our commercial success. I am looking forward to ensuring each team member has an opportunity to continuously innovate to drive the commercial success for our business partners.

6. Any career development advice you’d like to share with us?
Find something you enjoy doing, be patient and open for new opportunities. Never stop learning; be curious and ask questions. Take the time to profile yourself and create your own brand. Collaboration and being a team player are key: honor relationships with your colleagues and build your network. In this age of technology, left to our own devices, we aren’t connecting - so, be intentional and build relationships. That is what ultimately moves you forward not only in your career, but in your life.
7. Any hobby in your spare time?
I like to be active; I love to be outdoors and enjoying the nature. I also go regularly to the gym… I believe a healthy mind needs a healthy body!
