为了庆祝国际妇女节的到来,3月8日,希尔顿亚太区收益管理整合中心(下称RMCC)邀请了所有的女性团队成员共同度过了一个意义非凡的下午。活动以一场精致的下午茶开始,随后,同样作为女性的RMCC的收益副总监Kelsey Ratliff为我们进行了演讲。在演讲中,她着重强调了RMCC的女性团队成员们在职场上分所取得的进步和成绩。
To celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8th, RMCC invited our female team members to spend a meaningful afternoon together. The activity started with a delicious afternoon tea, followed by a presentation by Kelsey Ratliff, assistant director of RMCC, who’s also a female. She highlighted RMCC’s female team member achievements and progress in the workplace.
随后大家共同观看了Sheryl Sandberg,脸书首席运营官的Ted Talk演讲视频。在演讲中,Sandberg女士讲述了女性如何能在职场中有一席之地并且在事业上有所成就。对此她向所有女性提了三个建议:
向前一步,勇敢进取。通常女性在总会在无意识中妨碍自己的发展、降低对自己的期望值,甚至很容易就放弃工作、放弃获得更大成就的可能性。与男性相比,女性在职场中的态度仍然不够积极、不够进取。
平衡工作与生活。伴侣的支持非常重要。那种认为女性只有抛开家庭才能达到事业巅峰的说法其实并不成立。事实证明,绝大多数的成功女性都拥有一位相当支持自己事业的人生伴侣。
拥有更加开放的心态。女性应该对事业上的挑战持有更开放的心态。如果一份工作能让她学到新的技能,并且更快乐、更满足,那就意味着她在自我提升中不断发展。
Then the group watched a Ted Talk by Sheryl Sandberg who is the COO of Facebook. During her speech, Mrs. Sandberg discussed what women can do to stay in the workforce and progress in their career. She gave three recommendations to all women:
‘Sit at the table’. Be positive and confident to fight for what you want.
‘Make your partner a real partner’. Domestic duties need to be as respected as success in the workforce to get more equality.
‘Don’t leave before you leave’. Be open to additional challenges and don’t make decisions that will force you out too early.
最后,我们的客座讲师Jackie Robb,史泰博大中华区总裁,通过网络视频会议与我们分享了她的职场经历,人生目标和成功的诀窍。她是成功职场女性的另一典范。Jackie热衷于促进女性在工作场所中的福利和进步,例如将哺乳室引入到工作场所中,并积极在女性领导力方面进行指导。她还是全球妇女联合会的董事会成员——该非营利性组织将全球妇女联系在一起,并让她们发挥自己的潜力,互相支持,为创造更好的经济、社会和世界做出贡献。
In closing, our guest speaker Jackie Robb, President of Staples Greater China shared her career, goals and tips for success through WebEx. She is another model of a successful woman in the workforce. Jackie is passionate about promoting the welfare and progress of women in the work place and has introduced lactation rooms at work and works actively as a coach for women in leadership. She is a board member of Global Women Connect, a not for profit organization that connects women globally and enables women to unleash their potential and support each other to contribute to a better economy, society and world.
活动结束后,我们向女性团队成员们发送了一封整合邮件,其中包含对她们的鼓励、认可以及一些延伸阅读材料和资源,供她们进一步学习。
After the event, we distributed a consolidated email with encouragement, recognition and some useful resources for further reading and learning to and for women.
今年的妇女节的主题是“向前一步”。这个主题的目标是让人们关注并为全球女性争取平等的教育权利,机会和认可,并同时鼓励和帮助她们达成自己的人生和职场目标。虽然每年妇女节的主题都不同,然而在RMCC,有三个主题是永恒不变的:
关注女性的学习与发展,不仅是为了她们职场的晋升,同时也有助于她们实现自我价值。
帮助女性实现生活和工作的平衡。
坚持赞扬和鼓励身边的女性们。
This year’s IWD theme is #PressforProgress. The goal of this theme is to bring focus to and press for progress in equal education, opportunities and recognition for women around the world while empowering each to achieve their own personal and professional goals. The theme for IWD changes each year. However, the three themes in the RMCC remain consistent:
Focus on learning and development for females, not only for career advancement but also self-fulfillment.
Create a work-life balance that works for females.
Continue to praise and uplift the women around us.
目前,RMCC超过60%的团队成员都是女性。在2017年的升职团队成员中,女性就占了一半。今年RMCC已经开了一个好头——相比去年,今年已经升职人员中有67%为女性。更多详情请见下图。
Currently over 60% of RMCC APAC team members are females and 50% of our promotions in 2017 were female. RMCC has already started 2018 with a higher YTD figure of 67% female promotions. Please see more highlights on the picture below.
国际妇女节在成立至今的将近100年里取得了很大的进步,而RMCC也将继续支持职场中的女性平权和女性领导力。最后,祝所有强大的女性们国际妇女节快乐!
IWD has made a lot of progress since it’s almost 100 years of existence, and the RMCC will continue supporting women’s equality and leadership in the workplace as well. Happy International Women’s Day to all the strong and empowered women!
